(Stafford Springs, CT)—With the release of a schedule that has seen many
\nnew events as well as a few new twists and turns to it, Stafford Motor
\nSpeedway has continued to expand its 2012 schedule with the addition of the
\nNew England Truck Series to its 40th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend that
\nis scheduled for Sept. 28-Sept. 30. The New England Truck Series (NETS)
\nwill be making only their second ever appearance at Stafford. The trucks
\nwere first at Stafford as part of the PRA Big Car Series event in August
\n2006 that was won by Chris Correll.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re excited to be racing at Stafford again,\u201d said NETS Director Lorraine
\nPard. \u201cThe competitor feedback we\u2019ve received has been overwhelmingly
\npositive, no one can believe that we\u2019re going to be racing at Stafford
\nagain. We\u2019ve brought the Riverhead trucks into our series, so we have a
\npretty good truck count and we\u2019re trying to help our competitors with cost
\nfriendly rules. We handicap our feature lineups from the heat races with
\nthe faster truck starting behind the slower trucks, which makes the racing
\nmore exciting for everyone and we\u2019re looking forward to putting on an
\nexciting show at Stafford.\u201d<\/p>\n
New England Race Trucks feature fiberglass bodies that replicate Ford F150,
\nChevy Silverado, and Dodge Ram Trucks. All trucks are powered by either V-8
\nFord 302, Chevy 305, Dodge 318, or the GM 602 & 603 Crate motor program.
\nEach truck has an automatic transmission, ensuring equal power output among
\nthe Ford, Chevy, and Dodge makes. All NETS racing engines feature a
\nspec-racing carburetor, manifold, cam, electronic ignition, dual reservoir
\nmaster brake cylinders for adjustable brake bias, racing coil springs front
\nand rear, and steel bodied racing shocks. Custom upper A-arms and wedge jack
\nbolts provide adjustment according to track length and surface.<\/p>\n
The 40th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend will get underway Friday,
\nSeptember 28 with a practice session for Stafford\u2019s weekly divisions. The
\npractice session will be open to the public at no charge. The CARQUEST Fall
\nFinal will continue on Saturday, September 29 with qualifying for the Whelen
\nModified Tour and heat races for Stafford\u2019s weekly divisions as well as the
\nPro-4 Modifieds. Saturday\u2019s racing action will conclude with feature events
\nfor the SK Light, Limited Late Model, DARE Stock, and Pro-4 Modified
\ndivisions. The CARQUEST Fall Final will conclude on Sunday, September 30
\nwith the CARQUEST Belts and Hose Pit Party followed by Stafford\u2019s SK
\nModifieds\u00ae and Late Models joining the Whelen Modified Tour in feature
\naction.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend are available and on sale now
\nthrough the SMS Box Office. Tickets are priced at $38.50 for adult general
\nadmission tickets, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and
\nunder are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved
\nseating will be priced at $42.00 for all ages. As always, Stafford Motor
