Canaan, NH — Mike Parks and Jack Bateman, founders of the
\nNew Granite State Pro Stock Series, were pleased with the turnout
\nat three meetings last week to discuss rules, purse structure,
\nrace procedures, and answer questions as they plan their first
\nseason for pro stock racers.
\n
\nThe series sanctioned a race last summer at Twin State Speedway,
\nClaremont, NH. The inaugural season, featuring a series of races at
\nNew Hampshire speedways, will begin Memorial Day weekend,
\nMay 26, with the running of the \u201cDavid\u2019s House 106\u201d at Monadnock
\nSpeedway, Winchester, NH. <\/p>\n
\u201cWOW!\u201d said Mike Parks, President of the GSPSS. \u201cThe turn out
\nfar exceeded what we expected. With three meetings spread out
\nover the state of New Hampshire there were over 35 Pro Stock
\nrace teams represented.\u201d<\/p>\n
Well known racers Babe Branscombe, Louie Mechilides, Barry
\nGray, Jimmy Renfrew, Jay Sands, Fran Colson, Rich Eaton, and
\nJake Vanada are just a few veteran pro-stock racers that were on
\nhand. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe were able to cover a lot of ground on some rule concerns and
\n there will be some changes made,\u201d Parks said. \u201cWe wanted to listen
\nto the years of experience that attended the meetings. It\u2019s important to listen to the competitor.\u201d <\/p>\n
Parks also announced Star Speedway official Pete Frappier will
\njoin with Modified Racing Series official Scott Miller as Tech
\nInspectors.<\/p>\n
