McNamara ruling was because the jury based its award on MRN&#8217;s projected lost profits.  Project lost profits can not be a basis for damages.  The case start due to NHMS canceling it contract with MRN without giving the necessary termination notice.  NHMS owned by SMI wanted &#8220;The performance Racing Network&#8221; to cover it&#8217;s events instead of MRN.  SMI also owns the &#8220;The performance Racing Network&#8221;.
