During the coming weeks, SMS will offer a profile on each of its<br \/>\nchampionship winning drivers and the charity they will be racing for and<br \/>\nthis week\u2019s CARQUEST Champions For Charities spotlights falls on defending<br \/>\nStafford SK Modified\u00ae champion Ryan Preece, who will be racing to support<br \/>\nthe Connecticut chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u201cFirst of all, it\u2019s nice to finally be able to be called a champion,\u201d said<br \/>\nPreece.  \u201cI watched the race last year and it looked like all of the guys<br \/>\nhad a lot of fun.  The main thing is to raise money for Make-A-Wish, so I\u2019m<br \/>\nlooking forward to raising money and helping to make a difference in being<br \/>\nable to grant a wish for a child with a life-threatening medical illness.\u201d<br \/>\nAs Preece strives to raise money for the CT Chapter of the Make-A-Wish<br \/>\nFoundation, he will not be alone in his fundraising efforts.  Hoosier Tire\u2019s<br \/>\nMissy Pearl, who is an independent consultant with PartyLite Gifts, will aid<br \/>\nPreece\u2019s efforts by donating 25% of her profits from selling PartyLite gifts<br \/>\nto Preece\u2019s efforts for Make-A-Wish.  Fans can order PartyLite gifts online<br \/>\nat http:\/\/www.partylite.biz\/sites\/melissapearl\/productcatalog and entering<br \/>\nRyan Preece\u2019s name after clicking on Look Up Your Host, or by calling Missy<br \/>\nPearl at 860-608-6043.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be helping Ryan raise money for Make-A-Wish,\u201d said Pearl.<br \/>\n\u201cPeople can order either online through my PartyLite website or by calling<br \/>\nme directly.  25% of my profits will go towards Ryan\u2019s total for Make-A-Wish<br \/>\nand I hope to sell a lot of candles to help Ryan be one of the top<br \/>\nfundraisers and get him a preferred starting spot in the CARQUEST Champions<br \/>\nFor Charities feature race.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>After winning the Stafford SK Modified\u00ae championship last season, Preece<br \/>\nwill have a full slate of racing ahead of him this season as he will race<br \/>\nweekly at Thompson and Stafford as well as taking over the wheel of the #16<br \/>\ncar on the Whelen Modified Tour that was formerly piloted by Mike Stefanik.<br \/>\n\u201cThe way the schedule is there are no conflicts, so we\u2019ll be at Stafford for<br \/>\nall the races to try to win another championship,\u201d said Preece.  \u201cIt was<br \/>\nnice to win the championship last year and we\u2019ll try to win it again, but<br \/>\nwith the competition level at Stafford, that is asking a lot.
