Governor of Vermont from Berlin.  The all-time win list leader at Barre\u2019s Thunder Road and multi-time Champion is an early favorite to win the Vermont State Championship Series.<\/p>\n<p>Scott is thrilled with the opportunity to compete in the series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think this is a great thing for Vermont.  I believe this is the first time since Catamount that our state has had two paved tracks, and it\u2019s terrific to have a racing series \u2018in house\u2019\u201d Scott said.  \u201cIt\u2019s very exciting.  I know talking with people throughout the state many people are exciting about it, also I think it will be a lot of fun for both the fans and drivers.  It would be an honor to be the first Late Model Champion of Vermont.\u201d Scott finished.<br \/>\n <!--more--><br \/>\nBeing the first Late Model Champion of Vermont isn\u2019t the only incentive for the four race series.  Over $53,000 in winnings will be posted between the two tracks, raising the stakes that much higher for local Late Model teams.<\/p>\n<p>Eight-time ACT Champion and the winner of last year\u2019s ACT Spring Green 111 race at Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway, Brian Hoar of Williston, VT, has also said he will enter some of the events in the series.  Scott and Hoar will face stellar competition from other Vermonters including former Thunder Road Champion Nick Sweet of Barre, Scott Payea of Milton, and Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway regular Craig Bushey of Fairfax.<\/p>\n<p>The series will kick off Sunday, May 27 at \u201cThe Nation\u2019s Site of Excitement\u201d Thunder Road in Barre, VT for the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic.
