\nDevil’s Bowl Speedway Race Report<\/strong><\/p>\n

WEST HAVEN, Vt. \u2013 Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., saw his two-race winning streak to open the ACT Late Model Tour season snapped when he finished 11th in the Spring Green 112 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., on Sunday, May 6. It was a long afternoon for Hoar, winner of the the Spring Green in 2011, who was hurt by a poor draw for qualifying and ended up starting 21st in the 34-car field and could never get the track position he needed to get up and race with the leaders. The RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge battled its way up to 11th to salvage a good points day on an otherwise tough afternoon.<\/p>\n

BRIAN, IT WAS A LONG DAY FOR THE TEAM AT DEVIL’S BOWL.
\n\u201cWe set the bar kind of high with those standards (winning the first two races of the year). We just missed it today. We drew dead last in our heat race, and the car was just too free in the heat and in the consi it was still too free. We tightened it up for the feature, but we’d gotten ourselves in too big of a hole. It was just one of those days.
\n\u201cWe were fast in practice, and we thought we had a really good setup for the race \u2013 but practicing and racing are two different things. It was a long night for us. We just really struggled. We knew what we did to the car to get it where it was, but we just missed it.\u201d<\/p>\n

HOW WAS THIS RACE DIFFERENT FROM LAST YEAR’S AT DEVIL’S BOWL?
\n\u201cIt’s tough for me to say. I felt like I had more trouble passing this year. I don’t know why. I don’t know if the Fords and Chevys are too even now. It’s still tough. Some guys made it to the front \u2013 Austin (Theriault) made it up from the back, Eric Williams made it. Who knows? We just missed the setup.\u201d<\/p>\n

DO YOU LOOK AT THE FACT THAT YOU HAD A BAD DAY BY YOUR STANDARDS BUT STILL SALVAGED A GOOD POINTS DAY OUT OF IT?
\n\u201cI guess in the overall scheme of things, it could be worse. But it’s a tough day. There’s only 10 races, and if Wayne (Helliwell) keeps going like he’s going, it’s a going to be tough to beat him. He’s probably going to have to have a tough day or a tough week of his own to help us out.\u201d<\/p>\n
