Langley Speedway is set to host the midsummer highlight with the 18th renewal of the prestigious Hampton Heat. This event has long been a staple on the schedule, serving as the second leg of the Virginia Triple Crown since 2012 and carrying significant weight in Late Model Stock Car racing history.
The race itself is a demanding 200-lap contest covering 79.4 miles on the 0.396-mile oval. As one of the flatter tracks in the region, Langley features only six degrees of banking in the corners. Teams will compete in a six-tire format, allowing them to change two tires during the halfway break around lap 100.
The schedule for Saturday night is packed with action, starting with practice sessions and qualifying at 3:45 pm before the feature race kicks off at 8:30 pm. The event also features driver introductions and a fan fest, including a performance from The Dan Nichols Band.
The field for this race is stacked with talent, featuring names like Landon Pembelton, Lee Pulliam, and Brenden Queen vying for victory. The purse has been increased for the 2026 running, boasting record posted awards of $43,745, with the winner taking home $10,000.
