Will Hull Wins Second Consecutive at Bear Ridge Speedway

The Green Mountain Gear-Heads Sprint Cars of New England appeared at the Bear Ridge Speedway for the second consecutive week with Will Hull once again picking up the win after an exciting mid race battle with Clay Dow.

Floyd Billington and Mike Kondrat brought the field to green with Kondrat leading the first lap before Billington annexed the top spot. Billington led only three circuits before the high flying Clay Dow blasted into the lead and started to distance himself from the field. Chris Donnelly claimed second on lap nine but wasn’t gaining on Dow when the only stoppage of the race occurred with twelve laps complete for a wild flip by Mark Cole, who caught the berm on the inside of turn one. Cole was uninjured in the incident. When the race went back green Will Hull, who started last on the field flew by Donnelly to take second and then a lap later engaged in a nail biting side by side battle for the lead with Clay Dow for five complete laps before Hull nosed ahead. The duo ran side by side for two more laps before Hull cleared Dow and started to steadily build his lead, leading the last eight laps of the race to take his second win in a row at Bear Ridge. Clay Dow finished a strong second with Chris Donnelly third. Kurt Conklin and Floyd Billington completed the top five.

The FK Rod Ends/ O’Reilly Auto Parts Heat race winner was Will Hull.

The next event on the Green Mountain Gear-Heads Sprint Cars of New England schedule will be Saturday, August 17th, once again at the Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT.
