Helliwell Takes Advantage of Late Tangle for Midsummer 250 Win
N. Woodstock, NH – Dover, NH’s Wayne Helliwell Jr. was in the right place at the right time to score the victory in the Midsummer 250 at N. Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, August 3. Helliwell inherited the lead when Jimmy Hebert and Scott Payea got together on a restart with four laps remaining in the longest event of the year for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT). He then held off a last-lap bid by Graniteville, VT’s Stephen Donahue to score the $10,000 top prize.
Donahue earned an ACT career-best second-place finish while Barre, VT’s Jason Corliss finished third. Milton, VT’s Scott Dragon and point leader Rich Dubeau of Lebanon, NH rounded out the top-five. More information will be available in an upcoming press release.
The ACT Late Model Tour travels to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway Saturday, August 24 for the Oxford Plains 150 as part of the “Night Before the 250”. Post time is 4:30pm.
