WATERFORD — The rich got richer Wednesday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

The Wild & Wacky Wednesday point leaders in the X-Car and Super X-Car divisions both won their features in impressive fashion. Eddie Loomis of Plainfield came from behind to post his third 25-lap X-Car win of the season. Dave Yardley of Berlin was just as explosive as he locked up his third 25-lap Super X-Car win of the year.

That was the advice Colin “The Comet” Haley of Ashford received during a trip to North Carolina last fall. It’s a philosophy that helped him earn three straight podiums in the Legends division at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, including his first-ever victory on July 4.

WATERFORD — Dave Gargaro hasn’t raced regularly at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl in more than a year.
The two-time X-car champion, however, hasn’t forgotten the fast way around the track.

Gargaro took the lead from T.J. Racicot on lap No. 18 and still had enough voltage left to survive a two-lap, green-white-checker showdown with Racicot and Eddie Loomis. He held on for a win in the 35-lap X-Car Extra Distance Showdown Wednesday as part of the Speedbowl’s Wild & Wacky presentation. (more…)
