WATERFORD — It’s impossible to be in two places at once, but Late Model driver Anthony Flannery of East Hampton came as close as you can get.

Harkin, Bennett, Loomis, Yardley clinch Wild and Wacky Wednesday titles
WATERFORD — Three contenders became champions Wednesday night in the season finale of Wild and Wacky Wednesday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
Maddie Harkin, in the Bandeleros, Dave Yardley, in the Super X-Cars, and Peter Bennett, in the Legends, each did what they needed to do in order to lock down their first Speedbowl titles. (more…)

Hadley enjoys winning detour into Mini Stocks
WATERFORD — Jordan Hadley was looking for a silver lining into what had become a disappointing Sportsman season.
He needed to change divisions, however, in order to find one. And it turned out to be a silver lining worth $200.
Hadley stepped into a Mini-Stock on Aug. 18 at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl for the first time all season, started 10th and was able to barnstorm into the lead. He held on for his ninth Mini Stock victory sand his 17th in his career.

Monster Trucks ready to rock the ‘Bowl
WATERFORD — Mike Vaters Sr., a 37-year veteran of Monster Truck activity, said he’s looking forward to Sunday’s visit to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
“We are going to rock the house,” he said.
The two Monster Trucks that will be in attendance, Higher Education and Overkill Evolution, probably will be rocking more than just the house — expect the ground also to start shaking. (more…)

WATERFORD — Super X-Car driver Aaron Plemons pulled off his first New London-Waterford Speedbowl victory the hard way — with point-leader Dave Yardley breathing down his firesuit. Plemons, however, didn’t succumb to the pressure. He held off Yardley over the final five laps to grab a dramatic win the 25-lap Super X-car feature. 14-year veteran Pantani has moment of glory
WATERFORD — Dennis Pantani has two career Legends wins at New London-Waterford Speedbowl, but he says the latest victory he captured Wednesday stands out.
“It was sweet because we had to pass some cars to do it,” said Pantani who dropped as far back as sixth place before he made his charge to the front. “When I won seven years ago, I was in fifth place, and then the four cars in front of me wrecked and I moved up to first. It was a win by circumstance. The win I got Wednesday night I really had to earn. This was a different caliber of winning.” (more…)
