BRAD KESELOWSKI Interview

BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 2 Ford Fusion – ARE THE PENSKE GAMES GOING TO BE PART OF THE 2018 SEASON? “Yes, in fact I filmed it yesterday. All day. For about 10 hours. We are trying to have some fun. I was telling another group earlier that sometimes we have been accused at Penske of putting the F.U. in fun. This year we are trying a little harder.”

IF YOU COULD BE A NASCAR OFFICIAL FOR A DAY AND CHANGE SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE? “If I could be a NASCAR official for a day, what would I change? Well, I would never want to be a NASCAR official. As much as we rag on them, that looks like one of the worst jobs ever. It does not look like any fun at all. If I was sentenced to that position, I would say that I would change – I only get one thing? There is a lot of trouble I could get into with this one. Before I answer this, has anybody said anything more controversial today than Kyle and Kevin did yesterday? No? Damn. You all need something to get some clicks. See, there are two levels of trouble I can get in. The trouble I can get in with NASCAR and the trouble I can get in with my wife. One is going to cost me a lot financially and the other is going to cost me a lot more financially.”

KASEY KAHNE, NO. 95 PROCORE CAMARO ZL1, met with members of the media at the Charlotte Media Tour and discussed being his expectations of being with a new team, winning at the Brickyard last year, his World of Outlaws team, and more.

QUESTION ON THE OFF-SEASON

“It was pretty normal but it was a little different. I didn’t go to Australia this off-season, which I have for the last couple of years. I had (his son) Tanner a ton. We went to Washington. We did a lot of stuff together and I really enjoyed that. And just starting over with a new fresh start with the team and a group of people learning that. But, it’s been a little different. But, it’s still two months kind of off, which in our racing season for 15 years, it’s all pretty similar. Those two months are usually pretty similar.”

Interview with RYAN NEWMAN

RYAN NEWMAN, NO. 31 CATERPILLAR CAMARO ZL1, met with members of the media at the Charlotte Media Tour and discussed his impression of the new Camaro ZL1 race car, the sharing of data, personnel changes at RCR, the Hawkeye system, and more

Q. Yesterday Austin said our show is going to be leaner and meaner. I was wondering if you feel the same way.

RYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, Jimmie was joking earlier about that, and I don’t know that I would describe it as leaner and meaner, but I think it’s a great opportunity for us to take the people that we decided to keep on board and pursue the 2018 season with a new Camaro ZL1. I don’t know that I’ll be leaner. I don’t know that I’ll be meaner. But I’m going to try as hard as I’ve ever tried and do whatever it takes to be as good as we can be.

Kurt Busch defending Daytona 500 champion Interview

Kurt Busch, defending Daytona 500 champion, met with media members at the Charlotte Media Tour Tuesday morning.

KURT BUSCH, No. 41 Monster Energy Ford Fusion — YOU COME INTO THE YEAR AS THE REIGNING DAYTONA 500 CHAMPION. ANY ADDED PRESSURE? “I had some family members ask me that the last couple weeks. They asked if I feel less pressure. To me, I feel more pressure because I want to defend it properly. I want to go back to back. I want to bring it home again for Monster, Ford and everybody at Stewart-Haas. You give it that same attention to detail that you give Daytona every year. If you have won it or you haven’t you still go after it hard.”

WHAT MAKES THAT RACE SO HARD TO REPEAT? “I think the factors involved. Whether it is the manufacturers change from year to year, the engine combinations. This year it is a whole new ballgame with the no ride height rule. You will see cars with a whole different style of setup. That is what gets me all motivated to work as hard as I can because when there is something new you want to be on the cutting edge to be the first guy to do it.”
