Walter Hammond Jr tops the Sportsman Modifieds, Todd Hayward Dominates in the Coupes
It was all systems GO for week two on a beautiful night at Bear Ridge Speedway. Joining the regular divisions of the 99Rock Weekly Racing Series were the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England, who always put a fantastic Show.
The pounding thunder of the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds were the first Feature of the evening going for forty laps. Mike Ryan grabbed the lead from the second starting spot when the green flag flew. Ryan survived a couple of caution flags while Walt Hammond Jr was working his way toward the front from his 5th starting spot, arriving in second with 23 laps complete and completing the pass for the lead on lap 26. While Hammond Jr started to run away from the field Adam Pierson was methodically heading to the front from his 17th starting spot, passing Ryan for second with three laps to go. At the checkers it was Walt Hammond Jr with the convincing win, Adam Pierson was second with Robert Tucker third. Mike Ryan and last weeks winner, Kevin Chaffee completed the top five. (more…)

After an unusually wet and cold spring, which meant the management team at Bear Ridge Speedway had to hustle to get the facility ready for the 51st consecutive season of racing at the Quarter Mile Dirt oval nestled high in the hills of Bradford, VT. Heavy rains the night before opening forced the annual Race morning Bradford car show to be moved to the local High School due to the wet conditions of the field normally used. (more…)

It’s the final countdown to the 51st consecutive season of racing!!!
It is the final countdown and last-minute track preparations are in full swing to be ready to open the doors on our 51st season.
This Saturday May 5th it is the annual car show at the Jiffy Mart ~ Bradford Mini Mart where the cars and stars will be judged, and the top three recognized for their accomplishment. Then the first practice session will follow in the afternoon. The 99ROCK wfrd weekly racing season will then see weekly competition in all five divisions starting that same night May 5th sponsored by FMS NAPA of Bradford, the proud sponsor of Bear Ridge Speedway’s opening night for over two decades. Racing will kick into gear at 5:00 pm(ish), based on track conditions.

Unfortunately, due to the weather we have been having for the past month we have made the decision to cancel out the our 17h annual Upper Valley car show on April 28th at the Fireside Inn in W Lebanon and the practice session after the show.
We will set our target for the annual car show at the Jiffy Mart ~ Bradford Mini Mart on Saturday May 5th which will be followed by practice session in the afternoon. The 99ROCK wfrd weekly racing season will then see weekly competition in all five divisions starting that same night May 5th sponsored by FMS NAPA of Bradford, the proud sponsor of Bear Ridge Speedway’s opening night for over two decades. Racing will kick into gear at 6:00 pm(ish), based on track conditions.

With snow falling as late as last weekend, people are beginning to wonder if spring will ever come, and if tracks across New England will be ready to open. Have no fear Bear Ridge Speedway “the fastest dirt track in Vermont” is moving full throttle ahead, as we finally are able to get into the track and start preparations for 2018 our 51st consecutive season of racing.
