Sorel’s victory came after a dramatic battle with David Arute, who finished second, and Jimmy Hebert, who rounded out the top three. The race featured multiple cautions, restarts, and intense competition, with Sorel maintaining control despite challenges from Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., and others.
Stafford Speedway’s Opening Day festivities also included action in the Late Models, SK Lights, Limited Late Models, and Street Stocks. Chris Buffone of Belchertown, MA, won the 30-lap Late Model feature, while Nick Anglace of Seymour took the first NAPA SK Light Duel. Other notable winners included Jason Lafayette in the Limited Late Model and Ryan Waterman in the Street Stock division.
