Winged Supermodified racing has made its debut at the historic Speedway, marking a significant moment for the crate-engine series. Bobby Timmons III secured the victory in the inaugural 350 SMAC Tour Energized by USNEPower feature race held at the track.
This event marked the first time Supermodifieds were featured at Speedway, which had previously seen no such racing. The weekend brought together various touring divisions for the third official gathering at the facility, adding excitement to the rejuvenated track.
The competition was tight throughout the race. While initial challenges arose, Timmons managed to hold off competitors to claim his fifth career 350 SMAC win. Paul Buzel and Timmons led the field early on, but Brad Babb eventually took the lead after a brief caution period involving a flat tire.
Despite the late-race drama, Timmons ultimately prevailed, finishing ahead of Haydon Grenier, who finished second by a margin of 1.945 seconds. The victory further highlights Timmons’ deep appreciation for the history of his discipline and his place in Maine motorsports.
