Oval Speed Bubba 150 Postponed at Riverhead Raceway Until July 25th

Riverhead Raceway·

The highly anticipated Oval Speed Bubba 150 event at Riverhead Raceway has been postponed until July 25th. This decision was ultimately forced by adverse weather conditions, marking the third rainout during the first nine weeks of the 2026 season.

Track management faced a difficult choice regarding Saturday's NASCAR Local Racing Series. Although initial forecasts suggested clear skies, the situation changed rapidly as rain developed late Saturday afternoon, leading to the cancellation of the scheduled race. This delay impacted the planned schedule for the event.

The decision-making process involved tracking changing weather predictions throughout the week. Despite some initial optimism, the likelihood of rain increased significantly as the weekend approached, ultimately forcing management to prioritize safety and conditions over the original schedule.

Despite the postponement of the main event, Riverhead Raceway still held a packed Friday program featuring a fireworks display and the annual Flying Dutchman Tribute 76 for the Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modifieds. Other racing events, including Super Pro Trucks and Vintage All Stars, were still scheduled for the weekend.
