Fourth-generation driver Mark Stewart secured another significant victory at Riverhead Raceway by taking the win in the Flying Dutchman Tribute 76 event on Friday night. This race honored the iconic Fred Harbach and served as the opening leg for the five-race 2026 Crown Jewel Series for the Ted Christopher Cup, which culminates with the Islip 300 in November.
The competition was tight from the start, with Kyle Ellwood setting a fast qualifying time of 11.766, closely followed by Stewart's 11.772. As the race progressed, maneuvering and strategy played a major role as drivers battled for position. Early incidents, including a caution on lap 7, added drama to the proceedings before the field settled into a sustained run.
The battle for the lead continued throughout the event, featuring intense action among the front row. Stewart managed to hold his advantage through several restarts and challenges, demonstrating strong race management. Later in the race, the rivalry intensified between Stewart and Owen Grennan as they engaged in a high-speed game of cat and mouse, with Grennan challenging for second place.
Ultimately, Mark Stewart claimed his third career victory in the Cromer's Market Chevy. The event also featured other notable results, including Erin Solomito winning the Super Pro Truck portion and Don Nelson Jr. taking the Truck Enduro title.
