Jeffrey Battle put on an outstanding performance at the Twisted Tea Winged Wednesday 40 held at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on July 8. Battle secured a major victory, adding another giant checkmark to his New England Supermodified Series (NESS) resume and marking his third win of the 2026 season.
During the race, Battle engaged in an intense battle with Dan Bowes, ultimately passing him on the all-time NESS winner’s list. This victory further solidified Battle's status, as he achieved his tenth career triumph in just over 22 months, demonstrating sustained dominance in the series.
The race featured a thrilling struggle between the two drivers. After starting from fourth position, Battle battled Bowes closely throughout the event. At the halfway mark, Battle executed a decisive move, positioning himself ahead of his rival and taking the lead by a narrow margin as he navigated the final turns.
P.J. Stergios chased down for second place, while Dan Bowes finished in third. The action was further complicated by mechanical issues affecting other competitors, including Dave Duggan and Matt Swanson, who both experienced problems during practice or the main event.
