The combination of driver Joey Braun of Manorville and owner Rich Gerbe proved unstoppable at the demanding quarter mile, securing victory in the 7th annual Oval Speed Bubba 150 at Riverhead Raceway. This win followed their success at the Islip 300 the previous November, showcasing a strong run for the team in the NASCAR Modifieds.
Qualifying saw Justin Brown of Manorville set a strong pace, while Mark Stewart of Riverhead was right behind him. The race featured several cautions, including one on lap 5 due to a four-car tangle, which briefly slowed the action before the field resumed. The top three positions remained largely consistent through the early stages of the feature.
As the race heated up, the battle for the lead intensified between Braun and Stewart. After navigating cautions, Braun made a decisive move on lap 134, diving under Mark Stewart as they entered the first corner, taking the lead. Stewart immediately responded, fighting back to reclaim the front, leading for much of the final run.
The finish was dramatic as Stewart attempted to hold off Braun, but in the closing moments, Braun maintained his advantage, crossing the finish line first under the checker flag. The race concluded with Joey Braun taking home the victory, cementing a memorable performance for the team.
