In front of a packed crowd for the first of two Town Nights, Adam Gada rode his momentum from a heat race win and led from the drop of the green flag over Todd Owen. He kept a safe gap as the race progressed, but the real threat was working through traffic from a seventh place starting spot. Jon Puleo passed cars high and low, including a crossover move on Owen around halfway to put him into second, bringing Timmy Jordan into the picture with him. Gada's lead was erased almost immediately after Puleo claimed second. A caution for fluids on the racing surface bunched the field up and allowed Puleo the chance to rocket into the lead. Gada would settle into second for the remainder of the race until contact between him and Jordan on the final corner sent both drivers to the back. Puleo scored his fourth win in a row with Owen regaining the runner-up position and Nickolas Hovey rounding out the podium.
Mike Benevides hiccupped on the start of the Late Models, giving the lead to Shawn Gaedeke early. Jason Palmer and Aaron Plemons started putting pressure on early for the top spot with Tyler Chapman and Ray Christian III riding it out behind them at the back of the top 5. On lap 5, Plemons dove underneath Palmer for second and set his sights on the lead. By lap 10 he began his battle for the lead, and after a short side by side battle he had sole possession of the top spot on lap 14. Plemons took off from Gaedeke, and while Chapman gave Palmer a little bit of a fight, the running order would remain unchanged. Plemons picked up his first win in the division in dominant fashion.
It has been the better part of a month since the SK Lights took to the track but the drivers were still well on their game. Anthony Raccio and Ian Nunes took the green in a side-by-side battle for the lead that spanned about 6 laps. The two were under fire from Kevin Davis and Robert Bloxsom III who were all over their back bumpers during that time. They would eventually become the battle for the lead themselves after Nunes cleared Raccio on lap 6. Bryan Narducci made an appearance in the Kali Trapp number 14 and was cruising through the field, tagging along to Davis and Bloxsom's bumper before the halfway point. Narducci dove it underneath Bloxsom to try and take second away, but after light contact he went around and kept the car rolling. Bloxsom made the winning move with 4 to go under and by Davis, earning the hardware in a caution free race.
Mason Silva cleared Cameron Varricchio at the start of the Truck feature, but his lead would be short lived. Tyler Chapman brought his ride out which is always a contender to win and that was no different this evening. By lap 5 Chapman snuck the lead away from Silva and began running off until a caution flew on lap 9. Three attempts at a restart later, Chapman left Silva and Varricchio battling in his dust. Andy Pellegrini entered the battle and was able to pick off Silva, but not Varricchio. The field would settle into a groove with Chapman building up a straightaway lead over Varricchio, and Pellegrini was able to hold off Ryan Lineham to stay on the podium.
David Lee's Volkswagen was fast all day, and that speed carried into the night. It was hairy for the driver on lap 1 when he made hard contact with the front straight wall, going up and nearly over because of it. It didn't seem to hurt his speed however, as he continued leading the race. Behind him was a bit of a rocky start, but it would clear the way for Tim Dorr, Nate Taylor, and Charles Canfield. Lee built a half-straight lead over Dorr on lap 7 while Canfield worked by Taylor for third. A caution halfway saw Canfield slingshot into the lead out of the corner, but as the cars picked up momentum Lee kept the battle close. The same order of events took place with an 11 to go restart, only this time Andrew Krzeminski entered the picture, going outside and around Lee for second. The two kept pressure on Canfield until three to go when Krzeminski dove low for the lead. The two were side-by-side for the remainder of the race, boiling down to a photo finish separated by 0.027 seconds. Canfield won it by a nose.
KJ Rocco, fresh off a Thursday Night Thunder win, and Wade Oemcke started the Legend Car race off strong. The problem for them was PJ Evans and Jacob Burns were in the field. Both started deep in the handicap with their limited starts but were carving their way to the front using all of the racing surface. Dylan Freeman made a three-wide move after an early restart to take over the lead, but that also opened the door for Evans to make his move. Eleven laps in, Burns worked a nose underneath Freeman for second but a caution would fly. Burns took advantage of the restart and moved into second, but another caution with 12 to go when Oemcke made hard contact with the turn 3 wall gave Freeman the opportunity to wrestle it back. With Evans safely out front and six laps on the board, enter Zach Martinez who also started deep and Burns. They picked off Freeman to take over the podium. Evans would grab the checkers first, remaining undefeated in his two starts.
Some of the best Open Street Stock drivers in the region descended on the shoreline oval for their first race of the season. George Baldwin was strong all day and that didn't change when the sun went down. He and Corey Fanning started the 50 lap affair from the front row and pulled away from the field immediately. Fanning kept it close, but Baldwin turned up the wick and took off to a straightaway lead by lap 15. Ben Pollard made an appearance in a Street Stock and was showing muscle with a strong top 5 run, as was Ryan Lineham who started last in his Truck that he raced earlier in the evening. Baldwin had the field lapped up to 5th when the only caution of the event flew on lap 47. On the restart, Fanning kept his nose underneath Baldwin but even after contact, the results would remain unchanged. It was Baldwin's first win at the Speedbowl adding to his impressive resume, with Fanning finishing second and Lineham landing on the podium.
