Stafford Speedway is set to host the biggest SK Modified® race of the 2026 season this Friday, August 7th with the NAPA SK 5k. The 13th edition of the $5,000 to win race boasts over $35,000 in purse and contingency money, but that won’t be the only money getting paid out to SK Modified® drivers. The NAPA SK 5k will serve as the third and final race of the Sign Pro Triple Crown with $20,000 to be paid out to SK Modified® drivers. Combined with the NAPA SK 5k total posted awards, SK Modified® drivers will be chasing a share of over $55,000 this Friday night.
The Sign Pro Triple Crown, announced back in January, consisted of the three SK Modified® extra distance events: the Casella Waste 80 on June 5th, the CBYD Senators Cup 50 on July 24th, and the NAPA SK 5k set for this Friday, August 7th. The program provides a $20,000 point fund that will be distributed evenly among SK Modified® drivers who have started all three Sign Pro Triple Crown events. With 25 drivers having raced each of the first two legs of the Sign Pro Triple Crown, each driver would receive a bonus of $800 if the split remains at 25 drivers.
SK Modified® drivers will also be racing for a major bonus this Friday as part of the Sign Pro Triple Crown. For a second consecutive season, the Sign Pro Triple Crown Champion will walk away with a Mac Daddy JR Fastener Assortment from BoltsandNuts.com, valued at over $4,500. This massive prize includes nearly 19,000 pieces—bolts, nuts, screws, and washers—organized in multiple bins and drawers.
The race to see which driver will win the 2026 Sign Pro Triple Crown and take home the Mac Daddy Jr. Fastener Assortment from BoltsandNuts.com is ultra-tight at the top. Glen Reen heads into the NAPA SK 5k with the lead in the Sign Pro Triple Crown standings by 2 points over Jon Puleo, who won the Casella Waste 80 on June 5th, and Keith Rocco. Reen is one of only 2 drivers to record a top-5 finish in each of the first two Sign Pro Triple Crown Events with Rocco being the other driver. Rocco is currently riding a 5-race top-8 streak that includes two feature wins. Just behind Puleo and Rocco are the duo of Andrew Molleur and Troy Talman, who are both only 8 points behind Reen. Talman comes into the NAPA SK 5k with 2 wins and an 8th place finish in his last three starts while Molleur has posted three top-5 finishes in four starts since taking over the #11 car owned by John Hummel on June 26th.
The NAPA SK 5k takes center stage this Friday night, August 7th with Stafford’s five weekly divisions all in feature racing action.
