The ASA adjacent Super Late Model touring divisions have announced that their testing restrictions are lifted immediately. This change affects several major series, including the STARS National Super Late Model Tour, Southern Super Series, and CRA Super Series.
Previously, teams faced limitations on when they could conduct private testing, often requiring them to wait two weeks before approaching a race weekend. The Midwest Tour feature a one-week restriction, adding further complexity to scheduling for competitors.
By removing these restrictions, teams now have greater flexibility to schedule their testing earlier in the week. This adjustment is intended to help teams manage rising travel costs and maximize the value of each trip to the racetrack, potentially reducing the need for multiple trips.
ASA owner and promoter Marty Melo explained that this decision was made after considering the financial pressures facing teams due to increased fuel and travel expenses. He stated that eliminating testing bans allows competitors the flexibility to control costs while still ensuring they have the necessary time to prepare their race cars.
