Severe weather forced a major disruption at Riverhead Raceway on Friday evening, halting the qualifying session for the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombeck 77 NASCAR Modifieds. A sudden system of lightning and heavy rain made it impossible to continue racing safely, leading officials to postpone the event.

As a result of the weather onslaught, the entire program was rescheduled. The Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombeck 77 will now take place on the following Friday, August 14th. Additionally, the annual Cromarty Wall of Champions induction for Howie Brode and Danny Grennan was also delayed until that new date.

Beyond the Modifieds, other events scheduled for the track were also impacted by the severe conditions. The Late Model, Super Pro Truck, and Eddie Partridge Vintage All Star events were all washed out and will be rescheduled with dates to be announced by track management.

Despite the cancellation of the main event, qualifying did take place before the storm hit. Owen Grennan from Glen Cove set the fastest time in qualifying with a lap of 11.654, earning the HighMark Building Efficiency Fast Time award. Justin Brown of Manorville followed closely in second place with a time of 11.666.
