Barre, VT – With the dust not yet settled after the past two events, Thunder Road Speedbowl is geared up and ready to roll once again this Thursday, August 13 for Vermont Tire & Service Night. Headlined by the second round in the Squier Cup Late Model Triple Crown, Vermont Tire & Service Night also features the return of the Kid’s Poster Contest with all Vermont Black Bear youth hockey players in uniform admitted free for the four division showdown!
The Maplefields/Irving Late Models will go 100 laps on Vermont Tire & Service Night in Round #2 of the Squier Cup presented by Milton CAT. After his thrilling Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic win over Brandon Gray, Kaiden Fisher leads the Squier Cup standings and looks to score the triple crown championship. The Squier Cup is set for a thrilling back-to-back finish in 2026 with next week’s Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup 150 set to crown the champion as Ryan Preece looks to lock in the checkers on August 20!
The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers also return to rip-roaring action on the Barre highbanks this Thursday with 50 laps on the board. Brendan Moodie continues to lead the way in his quest for a second Flying Tiger track championship at Thunder Road while sophomore driver Karsen Murphy proved he’s no fluke once again on Sunday. Murphy, Parker Gagne and Cooper French are among the young guns that have proved they have what it takes to run with the likes of veterans Moodie, Derrick Calkins and Logan Powers and this week’s showdown is sure to be another for the record books!
After their thrilling Alera Group three-in-a-row Triple Crown last week, the rk Miles Street Stocks are ready to settle back into the track championship chase. Tyler Wheatley has a white-knuckle hold on his two-point lead ahead of Hayden Bushey atop the standings. Bushey’s shop-mate Jackson Hunt has also made waves lately to land in third overall on the current standings while two-time winner Hayden Morris, Barre’s Tyler Whittemore and Alera Group Triple Crown champion Connor Rueda still have things to prove this season!
The Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division also returns to Thunder Road for their monthly visit on Vermont Tire & Service night. There have been four different winners in as many events so far for the youth racers of tomorrow with Milton’s Bella Hamel carrying the checkers last time out. One thing’s for sure, these kids don’t back down from the challenge at a chance to become a Thursday night hero at Thunder Road!

Grandstands open Thursday at 5:00pm with Adult General Admission set at $20, Kids 6-12 are $5 and all Children five and under are free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is set at $40 and all Vermont Black Bears youth hockey players in uniform are admitted free!
