Tristan McKee secured a hard-fought victory in the UARA’s Battle at Berlin, cementing his status as a rising prospect in oval racing. McKee celebrated his win, noting that the performance was phenomenal, attributing the success to his crew and the pace of the car through the tough track.
The race featured intense action from the start. While McKee qualified fastest, the initial segments saw shifts in leadership. After an early caution, Evan Shotko took the lead during the first 50 laps, but McKee managed to pass him later in the segment, showcasing his ability to fight for position.
The middle portion of the race was marked by dramatic events. A caution flag brought out a multi-car spin, and subsequent action led to a three-way battle for third place among Carson Hocevar, Michael Atwell, and Joey Doiron. The intensity continued as drivers battled for track position.
The final laps delivered high drama. After an incident involving Cleetus McFarland and Keith Herp, the race tightened considerably. Ultimately, McKee and Bubba Pollard battled through the remainder of the event until Pollard ran out of fuel in turn four, allowing McKee to hold on and claim the trophy with a $40,000 grand prize.
