One of the longstanding traditions in Tour-Type Modified racing is set to continue as the North-South Shootout moves to Southern National Motorsports Park. This event will take place over a two-day weekend on November 6th and 7th, 2026, bringing the action to the premier short track facility in the Carolinas.
The weekend schedule will begin with practice on Friday, November 6, followed by the main racing event on Saturday, November 7. Saturday’s program will feature the Tour-Type Modifieds and 602 Modifieds competing alongside the Chargers, Legends, and Any Cars divisions, all taking place on Southern National’s 4/10-mile oval.
This move represents a partnership between North-South Shootout owner Chad Kepley and Southern National Motorsports Park owner Michael Diaz, aiming to strengthen the event and explore future growth opportunities. Both parties are excited about integrating the Shootout into the track's history, leveraging the high banks and wide racing surface to host competitive Modified racing.
The integration of the North-South Shootout into Southern National Motorsports Park allows the event to continue its tradition of uniting northern and southern Modified racing. Supporters note that this collaboration promises an incredible show for drivers and fans, continuing the legacy of Modified racing in the region.
