Tony Stewart has officially joined Matt Seymour Racing as a special advisor, bringing a wealth of experience from the top levels of motorsports to help guide the team. Seymour Racing has established itself as a formidable multi-car force within the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA), and Stewart’s involvement signals an ambitious push toward national aspirations.

Stewart, a former IndyCar champion and three-time NASCAR Cup Series winner, currently competes in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, offers unique insights into racing strategy and preparation. He has a proven track record, including two Chili Bowl victories in 2002 and 2007, and he has experience working with the team, even helping with track preparation inside the SageNet Center.

The immediate focus for the team is the upcoming 41st annual Chili Bowl Nationals, scheduled for January 11-16, 2027, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Stewart’s expertise is particularly valuable as the team seeks to maximize their chances of victory in this highly competitive event, where variables are numerous.

Matt Seymour Racing has a history in the Chili Bowl, with the team making its debut in 2016 and securing its first A-Main appearance in 2022. Drivers like Tim Buckwalter and Hank Davis have been key figures, with Buckwalter reaching the signature feature multiple times, and Davis achieving a strong finish in recent years. The team is now focused on turning that capability into a championship win.
