Barre, VT – It’s finally time for one of Central Vermont’s most anticipated racing events of the summer season this Thursday, August 27 at Thunder Road Speedbowl. Jet Service Envelope & Accura Printing present the annual Run-What-U-Brung spectator drags for the one and only chance all year long for you, your neighbors and your crazy Uncle Dave to take on the Thunder Road highbanks in your daily driver!
Run-What-U-Brung has a short list of simple rules; All drivers must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid license. All vehicles must have at least four wheels and be registered, inspected and insured for entry. All competitors must purchase a pit pass and register at the back gate by 6:30pm on Thursday. From then on it’s no-holds-barred on the track with every driver looking to stand tall as the 2026 Run-What-U-Brung World Champion!
Along with all the wacky shenanigans, the King of the Road track championship chase continues for the Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks as the calendar is almost ready to roll into September. Squier Cup Champion Jason Corliss has used the plus/minus Triple Crown to pad his lead atop the championship standings while Brandon Gray, Chris Pelkey, Bobby Therrien and Scott Dragon are ready to make some moves in the final stretch of the season.
With Brendan Moodie stuck in the back of the pack last week, the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers gained a little ground on the former track champion. 50 laps are back on the board this week for the #1 Support Division in North America as the field prepares for next week’s ACT Twin-State Series invasion to help wrap up the Myers Container Triple Crown with 100 laps!
The rk Miles Street Stocks continue to be the closest competition in the season-long chase. Fairfax’s Hayden Bushey was able to add more cushion to his point lead over Brookfield’s Tyler Wheatley while continuing to stay in the hunt for win number one. Washington rookie Owen Dupuis got it done last week but is still tracking behind Riley Morris and Zachary Garvey for the hotly contested freshman title.
The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors are also back on Thursday after their annual Vermont Governor’s Cup hiatus. The mighty Road Warriors go for 20 laps on Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night with driver introductions planned to make up for the rain-affected Challenge earlier this month.

Grandstands open at 5:00pm with Adult General Admission set at $15, Kids 6-12 are $5 and Children five and under are free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) will also be available for $30.
