The “ageless one” Bob Shepard is still winning racing in his fifth decade of racing taking home the checkers in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. Chris Donnelly “the Professor” takes home his biggest payday winning the SCoNE big money event.
The feature winners of the 59th consecutive season week thirteen sponsored by Optical Expressions Barre VT were Jason Horniak in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Bob Shepard in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, Keegan Tabor® in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modifieds Limiteds; Ryan Christian in the High Country Dispensary Late Models; Keith Mansur in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks; Ryan Sayers in the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners and Chris Donnelly in the Sprint Cars of New England.
Jason Horniak® adds his name to the winners list in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, after beating out Richie Simmons for the win. Simmons, the only driver in the top ten to have not won a race, is shaking his head trying to figure out why. With just four weeks left he knows it is “time to get r done”. Jason Gray worked his way from mid pack to beat out Owen Brown for the final victory lane spot. Brown and Kyle Huntington rounded out the top five.
The Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds had a special event for Optical Expressions, the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds King of the Hill points Competition. A special format was used to narrow down the field to a three car five lap shoot out for a thousand to win. Robert Tucker takes home the cash with Jason Gray second and Jeremy Huntoon third.
He has been racing at the Ridge for OVER FIFTY years and is still showing the rookie how it is done in Wells River Chevrolet-part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. Bob Shepard punched his ticket into the end of season growler event with the crowd on their feet as he beat out Earl Maxham for the win. Rookie Travis King advanced to take the third place spot in victory lane his second of the season. Michael Danforth Jr. and Cooper Hodge completed the top five.
Keegan Tabor® tightens the points battle with his fourth win in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modified Limiteds knocking Bryan King’s lead down to just fourteen points. With time running out he may not be able to get close enough to take the crown, but it will go down in history that it wasn’t a walk in the park for King if he is able to hold on. Jordan Robinson finished one spot better than last week in victory lane making it the line in second as King crossed tight behind her in third. Lucas Balch® and Michael Kinne® rounded out the top five.
The Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets were off and will return to action on September 5th for their madness event and will be competing for over four thousand dollars in lap money.
Ryan Christian scores win seven in the High-Country Dispensaries Late Models, beating out Tim Higgins and Kevin Smith who crossed the line behind him in that order. Tim Beard and Kelly Miller, after a hard turn right into the wall rounded out the top five.
Keith Mansur is not giving up the fight in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks as he scored his fifth win the most for a single driver in the division. With his win over Tim Tucker, he closes the gap to just twelve points from the top spot. Tyler Fellows crossed the line in third and is once again sitting on top of the heap five points over John Fields. Mike Mann and Tim Blake, with his best finish of the season rounded out the top five.
It appears that it may be down to just two for the championship quest with John Fields beating out Tyler Fellows for the win in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks. The two are now separated by two points with fields back on top. Keith Mansur finishes in third and is now sixteen points out of second not insurmountable but with only a handful of races left for 2026 it is beginning to become a more difficult challenge. Mike Mann and Luke Peter rounded out the top five for the night.
Another tight points battle continues in the Woodsville Power Equipment-Bobcat Ridge Runners as first and second are now separated by only one point. Ryan Sayers is the one still on top as he scores his third win of the season beating out Zach Audet who finishes in second and is the one, one point behind Sayers. Jacob Hall-Larson makes his second trip to victory lane, taking home third. Ryle Chaffee and Doug Boucher, still hoping for mulligans for the front two in the points battle rounded out the top five.
The High Country Dispensaries 4/6 Cylinder Enduro series will return to action September 5th.
The Sprint Cars of New England were once again in the house, and it was their Big Money Classic night with a record setting SCoNE payout of over $28,000.00 in purse and lap money. A full field of cars was on hand to go for the gold, and when it was all said and done it would be “The Professor” of Bear Ridge Speedway Chris Donnelly taking home his biggest payday in his racing career. The battle for the gold was tough with Matt Hoyt doing his best to get by Donnelly to no avail, having to settle for the second place spot. Kadyn Berry joined the pair in victory lane finishing third. Will Hull and Caiden Herbert completed the top five. SCoNE will return twice before the end of the season, next on September 12th and again on the 26th for the make-up event.
Coming up this Saturday September 5th is the return of the 4/6 Cylinder Enduro series with a makeup event. Sponsored by Wells River Savings Bank.
