Bear Ridge Speedway Results: Danforth Jr. Wins DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds

Bear Ridge Speedway·

The feature winners of the 59th consecutive season week fourteen sponsored by Wells River Savings Bank were Michael Danforth Jr. in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Michael Danforth Jr. in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, Bryan King in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modifieds Limiteds; Kelly Miller Sr in the High Country Dispensary Late Models; John Fields in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks; Glenn Engstrom in the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners and Cody Hodge in the High Country Dispensaries 4/6 Cylinder Enduro Series.

Michael Danforth Jr getting his feet wet for the move up to Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds took only four outings to show with his three consecutive championships in the Coupes that he will be someone to contend with full time in 2027 as he scores the win for the night. Max Dolliver wanting to avenge his mulligan finish from last week, climbed all the way up from the back up the pack to cross the line in second wishing for just a few more laps as he was sure he would have gotten by Danforth for the win. James Fadden joined the pair in victory lane with Richie Simmons and Robert Tucker rounding out the top five.

With double points on the line next week for the Wells River Chevrolet-part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Michael Danforth Jr can’t quite say he is a three-peat champion, but he is getting closer. Danforth scored his fifth win of the season and now sits on top of the leader board in points almost equal to three races. Danforth beat out Logan martin with Chris Roberts crossing the line in third. Lucas Wheeler is still looking to punch his ticket into the growler in two weeks with a win comes home in forth with Cooper Hodge completing the top five.

Bryan King is getting closer to his solo championship crown in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modified Limiteds, having shared the honors in 2025 with Travis Shinn, as he scores win number five getting by Jordan Robinson midway thru the race and never looked back. Robinson held on for second with Keegan Tabor taking home third. Shawn King and Lucas Balch rounded out the top five.

It was MADNESS night for the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets with over four thousand dollars on the line. The field took the green for two twenty two lap segments to come up with an overall finish for the points and victory lane trip. Feature segment one was won by Will Hull who was able to hold of Chris Murray and rookie Nick Fretto. Daniel Piastka and Justin Comes completed the top five. Feature segment two was won by Chris Murray with Nick Fretto second and John Forlano third. Justin Comes and Brandon Piastka rounded out the top five. Overall, Chris Murray is the winner with a total of 3 points. Nick Fretto is second with five and Justin Comes third with nine points. John Forlano and Will Hull completed the top five.

Kelly Miller scores win four in the High-Country Dispensaries Late Models, beating out Ryan Christian at the line. Tim Higgins joined the pair in victory lane with Kevin Smith and Cameron Grant rounding out the top five. Next week September 12th will be the last event for 2026 for the Late Models with a special race and points format. The only way Christian can lose the championship battle is if he does not take the green for their feature as he currently sits thirteen points over Miller.

It appears that it may be back to three fighting for the championship quest with John Fields beating out Keith Mansur, now third in the points, for the win in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks. The first to third place positions are separated by only eight points with first to second only by one point. Fields is back on top this week by one point over Tyler Fellows who crossed the line in third. Tim Tucker and Keith Brick rounded out the top five.

A newcomer to the Ridge takes no time in figuring out how to get around the famed quarter file clay oval in the Woodsville Power Equipment-Bobcat Ridge Runners, Glenn Engstrom out of Peru NY decided to come try it out and found himself crossing the line first in their main event to claim the checkers. Engstrom beat our Ryan Sayers at the line with Zach Audet close behind to grab the final victory lane spot. Riley Chaffee and Doug Boucher would round out the top five. A post-race inspection failure for Boucher would take his finish away, moving the field up one position with Jacob Hall-Larson being credited with the fifth place finish.

“It aint over till it’s over” as was the case for the High Country Dispensaries 4/6 Cylinder Enduro series the checkers waved over Matt Boucher who crossed the line first 4.524 seconds ahead of second place finisher Cody Hodge, the only two on the lead lap. But a post-race inspection found Boucher not quite right disqualifying him for the night, giving Hodge his third win of the season. James Daley is scored in third with Jason Porter and Justin Faford rounding out the top five. The Enduro series will be at the Ridge two more times this season, next on September 19th.

Coming up this Saturday September 12th is the return of the Sprint Cars of New England SCoNE sponsored by Ron’s Fix it Shop Claremont NH. The 95.3/107.1 The Wolf weekly racing series divisions on hand will be the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, the Wells River Chevrolet-part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, and the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners who will have double points on the line. The Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modifieds Limiteds, Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets, High Country Dispensary Late Models will have time trials and features with their points coming from the time trials and everyone getting the same points for taking the green for their feature. This will also be the last night of racing for the 2026 season for the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets and the High Country Dispensary Late Models.

To be eligible for the Bear Ridge Speedway points fund, and recognized at the annual awards banquet, drivers must hold a 2026 Bear Ridge Speedway or DIRTcar license, compete in the required number of events, and run on track designated tires as indicated in the rule book.
