The SMART Modified Tour race scheduled to take place at Caraway Speedway has been canceled due to unfavorable weather forecasts. This cancellation means the event, which was intended to be the final race before the start of the SMART Playoffs, will not be taking place as planned.
To ensure the season continues, SMART officials have introduced a 'Wild Card' round. This replacement event will be held at Orange County Speedway on Saturday, October 19, allowing teams to compete for a spot in the postseason.
The top five drivers in the points standings are already secured in the playoffs. These drivers include Danny Bohn, Ryan Newman, Jake Crum, Brandon Ward, and Burt Myers, who have already clinched their spots. However, there is still room for one more driver to join the playoff field.
Drivers ranked sixth through tenth in the standings who win at Orange County Speedway will earn a spot in the playoffs for the final two races of the season. These eligible drivers include Carter McMurray, Luke Baldwin, Joey Braun, Jack Baldwin, and Joey Coulter.
