Stafford Speedway hosted USNE First Responder Friday on September 11th with the TC 13 Shootout joining Stafford’s five weekly divisions in feature action.
The SK Modified® division ran their regularly scheduled 40-lap feature as well as the TC 13 Shootout, a 13 lap race contested between the top-13 finishers from the 40-lap feature. Troy Talman was the big winner of the night taking home the TC 13 Shootout trophy and the $1,313 to win the TC 13 Shootout. Also as part of the TC 13 Shootout festivities, the Ted Christopher Safety Initiative, orchestrated by Quinn Christopher, donated a set of custom ear molds courtesy of Shawn Waddell and Waddell Communications to each 13th place finisher. Troy Talman in the SK Modified® division, Chris Meyer in the Late Model division, Sami Anderson in the SK Light division, Kolton Gambacorta in the Limited Late Model division, and Alex Spinnato were the winners of the custom ear molds. Andrew Molleur was a first-time 2026 winner in the SK Modified® feature, Wayne Coury, Jr. notched his second win of 2026 in the Late Model feature, Tyler Barry was a first time 2026 winner in the SK Light feature, Devon Jencik was declared the Limited Late Model feature winner after Aaron Plemons was penalized for his car being underweight, and Matt Lowinski-Loh was a first-time winner at Stafford in any division by winning the Street Stock feature.
In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Andrew Molleur went 3-wide at the start with Wesley Prucker and Mikey Flynn to take the early lead. Tyler Chapman was on the move early as he charged into second behind Molleur with Flynn third, Dylan Izzo fourth, and Prucker fifth. Prucker spun on the backstretch to bring the caution flag out with 3 laps complete.
Molleur took the lead on the restart with Flynn in second. Todd Owen was third in line with Chapman fourth and David Arute was up to fifth. Dylan Izzo was pressuring Arute for fifth place but Arute was able to fend off his challenges to maintain fifth place. Michael Christopher, Jr. took sixth from Izzo on lap-9 with a move in the outside lane while Molleur continued to lead Flynn. Arute went around Chapman on lap-15 to move into fourth place behind Owen and he then pulled alongside Owen on lap-17 but couldn’t complete a pass as they raced wheel to wheel with Chapman right behind them and Flynn and Molleur in front of them. Arute was able to finally get clear from Owen on lap-23 to move into third place with Chapman now right behind Owen in the fight for fourth. With 10 laps to go the order was still Molleur, Flynn, Arute, Owen, and Chapman. Anthony Bello was sixth followed by Christopher, Izzo, Keith Rocco, and Jon Puleo. Molleur slowly pulled away from Flynn and he led the field to the checkered flag to pick up his first win of the 2026 season. Flynn was second with Arute, Chapman, and Owen rounding out the top-5.
In the 13-lap TC Shootout, Troy Talman streaked into the lead at the start with Jon Puleo, Riely O’Keefe, and Dylan Izzo behind him. Keith Rocco spun through the frontstretch grass to bring the caution flat out with 1 lap complete. Talman again took the lead with Puleo taking second. O’Keefe was third with Izzo fourth and Ethan Durocher fifth. The caution came back out with 3 laps complete as Michael Christopher, Jr. got into the frontstretch wall and then spun through the grass and into the turn 1 wall. Talman and Puleo went wheel to wheel for the lead on the restart with O’Keefe and Izzo side by side for third with Ethan Durocher in fifth. With 5 laps to go Talman and Puleo were still wheel to wheel as were O’Keefe and Izzo behind them. Izzo cleared O’Keefe for third on lap-10 while Talman and Pulepo were still wheel to wheel. Pulepo nicked the wall coming out of turn 2 on lap-11 which allowed Talman to cruise into the lead. O’Keefe took second on lap-12 with Izzo in third but they couldn’t catch Talman who took the checkered flag to win the TC 13 Shootout. O’Keefe finished second with Izzo, Durocher, and Molleur rounding out the top-5.
In the 30-lap Late Model feature, Chris Meyer made a 3-wide move at the start that saw him make contact with Adam Gray, who made contact with Chris Buffone with Buffone backing hard into the turn 1 wall to bring the caution flag out before a lap could be completed. Meyer was parked for the remainder of the race by Stafford officials for making contact with Gray. The restart saw Damian Palardy and Adon Burrell touch in turn 2 with Burrell going around to bring the caution flag right back out. Palardy was sent to the rear of the field by Stafford officials for making contact with Burrell. Paul Varricchio, Jr. took the early lead with Adam Gray charging into second. Wayne Coury, Jr. was third in line with Josh Wood fourth and Kevin Gambacorta fifth. Coury went by Gray on lap-8 to take over second place and that move allowed Wood to take third and Gambacorta to take fourth on lap-9 as Gray fell back to fifth place. As the cars hit the halfway point of the race Varricchio was still in command with Coury, Wood, Gambacorta, and Gray making up the top-5. Darrell Keane was sixth with Palardy, Burrell, and Rob Taylor lined up behind him. Coury was starting to slowly reel in Varricchio for the lead while Keane was looking for a way to get around Gray to take over fifth place. With 10 laps to go, Coury had closed the gap to Varricchio down to less than a car length with Wood and Gambacorta also closing in on the lead duo. Coury took the lead on lap-23 with Wood taking second as Varricchio drifted up the track and slipped back to third. Gambacorta was still fourth with Gray still holding off Keane for fifth place. Gambacorta took fourth place from Varricchio on lap-25 with Coury leading the pack. Coury led the field to the checkered flag to pick up his second win of the 2026 season. Wood finished second with Gambacorta, Varricchio, and Keane rounding out the top-5.
In the 20-lap SK Light feature, Matt Brewer and Bob Charland led the field to the green and after two laps of wheel to wheel racing, Charland emerged in the lead on lap-3. Brewer was now side by side with Peter Bennett for a lap before he charged into the lead on lap-4. Charland came right back on his outside and took the lead by a nose on lap-5. Brewer and Charland were still side by side on lap-6 with Dylan Houghton and Bennett third and fourth with Tyler Barry and Jason Finkbein fifth and sixth.
Charland cleared everyone on lap-7 in the lead but the caution flag came out on lap-8 for Chad Jones, who spun in turn 4. As the caution was being displayed for Jones, Nick Anglace came to a stop against the backstretch wall with the cars of Aiden D’Agata and Travis Downey both spinning on the backstretch.
Bennett went wheel to wheel with Charland on the restart and he took the lead before the caution came back out one lap after the restart for Dylan Houghton, who came to a stop against the turn 2 wall. Bennett took the lead on the restart with Barry taking second. Finkbein was third with Charland falling back to fourth where he was locked back in a side by side duel with Brewer. Barry was applying heavy pressure to Bennett for the lead when the caution came back out with 14 laps complete for Amanda West, who hit the turn 2 wall to end her night prematurely. Barry took the lead on the restart but Bennett was able to keep pace with Barry in the outside lane and he took the lead by a nose to complete lap-16. Barry led lap-17 by a nose as he and Bennett were still side by side with Chris Matthews taking third from Finkbein and Charland holding fifth place. Bennett led lap-18 by a nose and they took the white flag still side by side with Barry in the lead by a nose. Barry and Bennett ran side by side to the checkered flag with Barry taking down his first win of the 2026 season by inches. Matthews finished third with Finkbein and Charland rounding out the top-5.
In the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, RJ Surdell and Dave Secore touched in turn 2 with Secore drifting up the track, which allowed Adrien Paradis, III to take the lead on the opening lap. Devon Jencik took second with Surdell falling from pole position back to third with Gary Patnode fourth and Kyle Theriault fifth. Patnode took third from Surdell on lap-3 while Aaron Plemons took fifth from Theriault. Shelby Swan came to a stop against the turn 4 wall to bring the caution flag out with 5 laps complete. Paradis took the lead on the restart with Jencik and Surdell behind him. Patnode spun through the frontstretch grass on lap-7 but he kept going and the race stayed green. Plemons took fourth from Theriault and then took third from Surdell before the caution flag came back out with 8 laps complete for Matt Clement, who spun through the frontstretch infield. Paradis took the lead back under green with Plemons taking second. Plemons then took the lead from Paradis on lap-10 with Devon Jencik taking second and Surdell taking third to drop Paradis back to fourth. Paradis then spun on the backstretch to bring the caution flag out with 10 laps complete. Plemons took the lead on the next restart but Dana Wray went around and collected several others including Tyler Secore, Matt Clement and Scott Clement, to bring the caution flag right back out. Matt Clement was penalized one lap for making contact with Wray. Plemons again took the lead with Devon Jencik in second. Jeremy Lavoie was up to third with Surdell fourth and Norm Root, III fifth. Surdell worked his way to the inside of Lavoie to take third on lap-14 but his time in third was brief as he slid back to sixth place as Jason Lafayette was up to third with Root fourth and Lavoie fifth. Plemons led the field to the checkered flag to pick up what would have been his third win of the 2026 season. But post-race inspection found Plemons’ car to be 14 pounds under the minimum weight requirement and he was penalized to 15th place in the feature order, a penalty of one position per pound that the car was underweight. This made Devon Jencik the winner with Lafayette finishing second and Root, Lavoie, and Surdell rounding out the top-5.
In the 20-lap Street Stock feature, Marvin Minkler led the field to the green but it was Matthew Lowinski-Loh who was the leader at the end of the first lap. Jason Raymond was second with Ryan Waterman taking third on lap-2. Brandon Warren was fourth with Minkler falling back to fifth. PJ Evans took fifth from Minkler on lap-6 but he would surrender that position to Brent Gleason on lap-7. Warren took third place from Waterman on lap-13 after several laps of stalking Waterman. The leaders began to encounter lapped traffic on lap-14 and Raymond nearly took the lead from Lowinski-Loh as they split two lapped cars 4-wide but Lowinski-Loh was able to maintain the lead. This slowed the two lead cars up enough for Warren to close in on the lead duo with Waterman behind Warren with Gleason still running in fifth place. As the cars took the white flag Raymond was right behind Lowinski-Loh. Raymond dove to the inside of Lowinski-Loh on the final lap in turn 4 but he got sideways coming to the checkered flag to allow Lowinski-Loh to take the checkered flag for his first victory at Stafford Speedway. Raymond held on for second with Warren, Waterman, and Gleason rounding out the top-5.
