The Modified Racing Series celebrated a historic night as race number 300 was run at the 61st Annual Star Speedway Classic Weekend. The event culminated in a dominant victory for four-time MRS Champion Jon McKennedy, who secured the win in the grueling 75-lap event. McKennedy’s success keeps him just two wins shy of matching the all-time feature win record held by Kirk Alexander.
The action on track was intense, featuring a tight battle for the top spots. Kyle Bonsignore started strong, but Jon McKennedy ultimately prevailed, showcasing exceptional driving skill throughout the event. The field included Stu McCormack, Brett Meservey, and Matt Kimball rounding out the top five, demonstrating the high level of competition in the Modified field.
Adding to the excitement, Brett Meservey captured the King of the Mountains Series Championship, earning a podium finish. Meservey’s third-place result also significantly improved his standing in the season standings, positioning him strongly for the remainder of the 2026 season.
