The feature winners of the 59th consecutive season week seventeen sponsored by General Auto Salvage were Jason Gray in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; non-winners race winner James Fadden, Growler winner Michael Danforth, Michael Danforth in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, non-winners race winner Lucas Wheeler, Growler winner Michael Danforth, in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks John Fields; non-winners race winner Tim Blake, in the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners Riley Chaffee, non-winners race winner Jacob Hall-Larson and Ryan Sayers in the High Country Dispensaries 4/6 Cylinder Enduro series.
The annual Growler event, a special for all feature winners and their crews, was held for the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and the Wells River Chevrolet part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. It consists of twenty laps, a mandatory halfway caution to change a tire and a chance to go home with an extra cool five hundred dollars in your pocket if your crew can get you back on the track first. The only catch is your crew must get all the lug nuts on and they must be tight. For the Sportsman Coupes it is no surprise that Michael Danforth’s crew gets it done with a perfect stop and the speed to get him across the line first. In the Sportsman Mods it was a bit of a different story. First across the line at the checkers was Max Dolliver with Michael Danforth in second. The victory lane lug nut check found one not right on the Dolliver machine disqualifying him and giving Danforth yet another win for the night. Dolliver is by no means the first to lose due to loose or missing lug nuts over the years, which adds to this highly anticipated fan favorite event.
Thirty drivers showed up for the 100 lap event in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds with 29 able to make the green. Max Dolliver set fast time but drew the dreaded number eight chip for the feature line up invert moving him back to the eighth place position on the starting grid and put his number one nemesis in the second row. Jason Gray knew enough to get to the front and hold which he was able to do before the halfway point. Gray would survive several restarts to hold off the pack for the win, his fifth of the season. Dolliver was able to fight through the lapped traffic and make his way up to second with Matt Lashua back in his own car coming home in third. Mike Ryan and Jason Horniac rounded out the top five. Max Dolliver currently sits thirty nine points ahead of Gray and is just holding his breath until the checkers wave next week September 26th in hopes of scoring his first championship crown letting Gray be his bridesmaid, a roll he has held for the past three years. The battle for the final bear position at the banquet, fifth place, is separated by only two points between Todd Buckwold, Robert Tucker and Jeremy Huntoon.
In the Wells River Chevrolet part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Michael Danforth Jr can start celebrating his third consecutive championship for his grandfather Gene Pierson. With a points lead of almost three feature wins he can take next week off or show up to try to get his seventh win of the season and put the final dab of icing on the cake. We all suspect he will be back to try for another win. Danforth coming from mid pack worked his way to the front in the caution free fifty lap main event and beat Jason Gray for the win. Todd Buckwold crossed the line in third with Cooper Hodge and AJ Pushee rounding out the top five. While Danforth may have the points battle sewn up the battle for the bridesmaid position is still very much alive and will have to wait to be determined next week. Only seven points separate Cooper Hodge and Adam Osgood for the position.
The Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modified Limiteds were off and will return on September 26 as part of the make up race line up for the Jim Fields #46 memorial which will be a regular points night for all divisions on hand.
And the beat goes on for one more week before a king can be crowned in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks with only eleven points separating first from third it is truly anyone’s game. Will Tyler Fellows be able to hold for his second title or will Keith Mansur or John Fields get the break they need to dethrone him? You will need to be at the Ridge on September 26th to find out. Fast time awards go to Tim Tucker who then and the fortune or in this case misfortune to draw for the magical number of cars to be inverted for the feature line us. In the hat two, four, six, eight, and yes Tucker drew eight, meaning he would start from deep in the pack. Tucker didn’t let this slow him down one bit as he made is way all the way to the second place spot before the checkers waved. John Fields from this second row starting advantage was able to get to the front and hold of Tucker for his sixth win of the season. Keith Mansur joined the pair in victory lane, crossing the line in third. Tim Blake had his best finish of the year, taking home forth with Tyler Fellows crossing the line in fifth. In the non-winners race a tradition at the end of the season, claiming the win was Tim Blake.
Riley Chaffee wins feature number four for the season holding off Zach Audet at the line. Joining the pair in victory lane was Kevin LaForest. Ryan Sayers finishes fourth and with his 5th fast time overall now sits thirteen points over Audet in the championship battle. This title will come down to the wire between the two after the make-up race from July on September 26th, as Kevin LaForest sitting in third on the points chart is fifty one points back, after finish points are calculated. Jacob hall-Larson set fast time but would fall back from his front row starting point to cross the line in fifth. In the non-winners race a tradition at the end of the season, claiming the win was Jacob Hall-Larson.
The High Country Dispensaries 4/6 Enduro series was back in the house and as always offered plenty of thrills and spills for the fans. This event is always about the survival of the fittest and trying to stay ahead of Jason Porter till the end. This week Ryan Sayers was able to hold off Porter who came from the last row and worked his way through traffic and mayhem to finish in second, running out of time to set a strong challenge on Sayers. Jason Daley, the final driver on the lead lap held on for third with Justin FaFord and Scott Dowland completed the top five. The High Country Dispensaries 4/6 Enduro series will have their final points event on Sunday Funday October 11th.
Coming up this Saturday September 26th is a make up event for the 95.3/107.1 The Wolf weekly racing series sponsored by The Jim Fields Family. The 95.3/107.1 The Wolf weekly racing series divisions on hand will be the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, the Wells River Chevrolet part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modifieds Limited, the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners, and the Sprint Cars of New England. Racing will start at our famous “6:00-ish” start time.
This is a special general admission show (front gate) ticket for adults $20.00, teens/seniors $18.00 and children 11 and under $2.00. Military discounts are available at $5.00 off for those with a valid ID. The back gate (pit gate) ticket price for Bear Ridge Speedway and DIRTcar 2026 license holders is $30.00. Non-license holders are $40.00 (both prices include the front gate ticket.)
