After a weekly grind that started back in May, Thunder Road is ready to crown the 2026 champions this Thursday, September 24 on Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Championship Night presented by the Vermont Air National Guard (VTANG). Complete with a night-ending display of Northstar Fireworks, Lenny’s Championship Night is sure to have plenty of on-track fireworks with all the glory on the line!
The Maplefields/Irving Late Models are set to make history on Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Championship Night presented by VTANG. Jason Corliss is looking to become the first-ever five-time King of the Road in Thunder Road’s premier division while Brandon Gray is looking for his first crown and a chance to put his name in the granite monuments. Gray has an uphill climb with a thirty-point deficit staring the East Thetford driver in the face but he’s proved all season long that you can’t count-out the 00VT.
Wolcott’s ‘Lil’ Brendan Moodie nearly clinched the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger championship last week with his third win of the season, but Northfield’s Cooper French kept his own hopes alive with a runner-up finish. Moodie is looking for his first Flying Tiger championship since 2015 in the ultra-competitive division, putting it all together once again eleven years later.
Once again, the rk Miles Street Stocks have put in 19 stellar events to build the closest battle for Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Championship Night presented by VTANG. The Street Stocks will also make history on Thursday between sophomore racers Tyler Wheatley and Hayden Bushey. Both would earn their first career championship at the Nation’s Site of Excitement while Bushey could become the youngest champion in Thunder Road history, surpassing Kaiden Fisher by mere months to earn that accolade.
The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors join the fun on Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Championship Night presented by VTANG too! The Warriors gave a glimpse of what’s to come with last week’s two-segment showdown, already in preparation for their Mini Milk Bowl on Sunday, October 4. It’s hard to imagine but the 64th Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank is right around the corner, mark your calendar for Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4!
Thunder Road is back in action for the final Thursday night event of the season on September 24 for Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Championship Night presented by the Vermont Air National Guard. The Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks will crown their 2026 track championships alongside the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors and a special Northstar Fireworks display to cap off the evening, with a special 6:00pm Post Time.
Grandstands open Thursday at 4:00pm with Adult General Admission set at $15, Kids 6-12 are $5 and Children five and under are free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is also available for $30.
