Due to the threat of a major nor'easter, Riverhead Raceway has announced a change to its 2026 Championship Weekend schedule. The event, originally planned for earlier in the season, has been moved to Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th.
The severe weather forecast, which includes high winds, heavy rain, and potential flooding, led organizers to make the decision. This postponement marks the tenth rainout of the 2026 season at the track, and it is the fourth time the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 has been affected by weather.
Championship Saturday, October 3rd, will feature the Late Models, Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds, TK Figure Eights, Blunderbusts, Super Pro Trucks, and INEX Legend Race Cars, all running their final point races of 2026. The JuiceBox Racers will kick off the action following the opening ceremonies.
Championship Sunday, October 4th, will host the Street Stocks and Truck Enduros, who will compete in extra distance races. The day also features Mini Stocks, INEX Bandoleros, 8-Cylinder Enduro, 4/6-Cylinder Enduro, and a Women’s 8-Cylinder Enduro, alongside a Kids Big Wheel Race and the JuiceBox Racers.
