Caden Kvapil is poised for a historic weekend at Martinsville, with a potential win in the ValleyStar 300 placing him in a unique position to achieve multiple titles simultaneously. Beyond the grandfather clock, Kvapil has the chance to become the first driver to win the ValleyStar 300, the Virginia Triple Crown, and the CARS Tour championship all within the same season. Only one driver, Bobby McCarty, has managed this feat in his career.
Kvapil currently leads the Triple Crown standings and holds a lead in the CARS Tour standings that could allow him to clinch the series title early next Saturday at Newport Speedway. The Virginia Triple Crown itself is determined by the average finish across three events: the ValleyStar 300 at Martinsville, the Hampton Heat at Langley Speedway, and the South Boston 200 at South Boston Speedway.
The young JR Motorsports driver admitted that the pressure is immense, particularly when comparing himself to his brother, Carson Kvapil, who won the ValleyStar in 2024. Despite the pressure, Kvapil expressed confidence in his car and his ability to perform, stating that he feels ready to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the season.
A victory at Martinsville would not only cement Kvapil's status but would also cap off a near-perfect debut full-time season in Late Model Stock racing, which has already included wins at Nashville Fairgrounds and Langley’s Hampton Heat.
