A lengthy penalty sheet was issued by NASCAR following the ValleyStar Credit Union Late Model 300 held at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday night, stemming from multiple confrontations during the event.
The most severe penalties targeted Chad Bryant, the team owner and crew chief for Chad Bryant Racing. Bryant was fined $2,000 and given an indefinite suspension, which also included a one-year probation and a ban from the 2027 Martinsville 300. He was required to undergo anger management training. Additionally, CBR crew member Steven Civitarese received a $1,000 fine and an indefinite suspension with a one-year probation, while mechanic Ryden Lapcevich was fined $500 and placed on probation through the end of next year.
These three individuals—Bryant, Civitarese, and Lapcevich—were cited for violating Sections 12-6.1C and 12-6.1C2 of the NASCAR Rule Book, which pertains specifically to member-to-member confrontations involving physical violence.
Chaos also erupted during the heat races, leading to separate disciplinary action. Brad Houseright and Chase Burrow were both fined $250 and placed on NASCAR probation through the end of next year. Furthermore, Chase Burrow’s affiliated crew members, including his father and Ryan Burrow and Dylan Jenks, were fined $500 and also placed on probation until the end of next year.
