The Northfield Savings Bank Vermont Milk Bowl will once again pit the ultra-competitive Maplefields/Irving Late Models that call Thunder Road home against all the traveling might of the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour, with each side looking to tame the Toughest Short Track Race in North America this weekend.
The Thunder Road faithful are counting down the days this week to one final showdown to round out the 2026 season at The Nation’s Site of Excitement. Northfield Savings Bank presents the 64th running of the Vermont Milk Bowl on October 3 and 4, with race fans and teams looking forward to the Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America this weekend.
The Vermont Milk Bowl is the brainchild of the late, great Ken Squier who wanted to build a unique and excitement-filled end to the year at Thunder Road. Squier came up with the three-segment showdown, building intensity each lap as the eventual winner battles back up through the inverted field in an attempt to collect the lowest amount of points! From the open-wheeled flathead V-8 coupes that began Thunder Road back in the 1960s to today’s Maplefields/Irving Late Models, the Milk Bowl has never lost its flair among race fans and drivers alike.
The 2026 entry list is filled with possible repeaters, hardnosed veterans and rough-and-ready youngsters all in search of the silver can, the $12,000 check and the chance to kiss Copper, Harvest Acre’s beautiful Ayrshire dairy cow and this year’s Milk Bowl Queen!
Jason Corliss, Bobby Therrien, Nick Sweet, Stephen Donahue and Christopher Pelkey are all looking for another Milk Bowl win while Marcel Gravel is looking for his unprecedented third win in a row! Brandon Gray, Kaiden Fisher, Taylor Hoar, Gabe Brown, Jimmy Hebert and Justin Prescott are among the top talent in contention for their first victory in the iconic Autumn event. 2025 Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour champion Raphael Lessard is back with the Larue Industrial Snowblowers team for the first time this year in search of last year’s magic to put it all together at Thunder Road this weekend.
Former Vermont Governor’s Cup winner Cody Blake will be in attendance, along with Labor Day Classic winner Brooks Clark, weekly winners Stephen Martin, Brandon Lanphear, Cooper Bouchard, Darrell Morin, Jessie Laquerre and Derek Ming and White Mountain Motorsports Park invaders Jason Woodard, Kyler Davis, Colin Cornell and Tanner Woodard. The Great State of Maine is set to send Dylan Payea and Trevor Sanborn while rk Miles Street Stock champion Hayden Bushey is making his first Late Model start at Thunder Road.
The 64th Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank is set for Sunday, October 4 at the Nation’s Site of Excitement. The local Maplefields/Irving Late Models will take on all Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour invaders in the Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America with a $105,000 purse on the line and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to Kiss the Cow! Sunday's action starts at 12:15pm with the Last Chance B-Feature prior to opening ceremonies at 12:40pm. The Green Flag on Segment #1 drops at 1:30pm.
