Stafford Speedway hosted its final Friday night race program of the 2026 season with NAPA Auto Parts Championship Night on October 2. Feature wins were notched by Anthony Flannery for the second consecutive race in the SK Modified® feature, Josh Wood in the Late Model feature, Nick Anglace in the SK Light feature, Jason Lafayette in the Limited Late Model feature, and Brandon Warren in the Street Stock feature. Track champions for the 2026 season are Keith Rocco in the SK Modified® division, Adam Gray in the Late Model division, Tyler Barry in the SK Light division, Jeremy Lavoie in the Limited Late Model division, and Ryan Waterman in the Street Stock division.

In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Dylan Izzo took the lead at the start with Marcello Rufrano taking second. Ethan Durocher was third behind the two leaders with Jon Puleo fourth and Mikey Flynn fifth. Keith Rocco spun in turn 2 to bring the caution flag out with 2 laps complete. Rufrano took the lead on the restart with Izzo falling back to second. Durocher was still third with Puleo fourth and Troy Talman was now fifth. Anthony Flannery was sixth followed by Alexander Pearl, Todd Owen, Flynn, and David Arute. As Rufrano was starting to stretch out his lead, Durocher made a move to the outside of Izzo for second and they ran side by side for several laps but Izzo was able to fend off Durocher’s challenge. Flannery moved up to third with Todd Owen taking fourth as Durocher slid from third back to fifth on lap-16. Flannery took second from Izzo on lap-19 and that move opened the door for Owen to take third from Izzo one lap later. Flynn spun in turn 2 to bring the caution flag out with 23 laps complete.

Durocher got turned into the backstretch wall on the restart and that collected several cars including Puleo, Art Caruso, Matt Vassar, Josh Morrison, Chris Buffone, Wade Gagner, Bryan Narducci, and Cory DiMatteo to bring the caution flag back out before a lap could be completed. Under the caution the car of Josh Morrison ended up spun backwards against the frontstretch wall. Rufrano took the lead on the next restart with Flannery in second. Owen took third with Izzo fourth and Pearl fifth. Just behind Pearl and Izzo was Rocco, who was recovered from his earlier spin. Pearl took fourth from Izzo on lap-26 just before the caution came out one lap later for Talman and Curt Brainard, who both went around in turn 4. Rufrano and Flannery went wheel to wheel for the lead back under green with Owen third, Pearl fourth, and Rocco fifth. Rufrano cleared into the lead on lap-30 with Owen and Flannery now side by side behind him as well as Rocco and Pearl. Owen took third on lap-31 while Flannery took the lead from Rufrano on lap-32. Rocco moved into fourth on lap-32 and he took third from Owen on lap-36. Flannery led the field to the checkered flag to pick up his second consecutive victory after claiming his first career Stafford SK Modified® victory back on Sept. 25. Rufrano finished second with Rocco, Owen, and Pearl rounding out the top-5. Rocco clinched his fifth SK Modified® track title one week ago on Sept. 25, which ties him with Bob Potter for the second most SK Modified® championships with 5 each, trailing only Ted Christopher who won 9 SK championships.

In the 30-lap Late Model feature, several cars made contact at the start with Darrell Keane’s car taking damage to the right side and he fell to the rear of the field while Chris Meyer took the lead at the start with Josh Wood hot on his heels in second. The caution flag flew with 2 laps complete as Scott Davis and Wayne Coury, Sr. both got into the turn 3 wall. Meyer took the lead back under green with Wood again right behind him in second. Adam Gray and Chris Buffone were door to door for third with Buffone taking third on lap-6. Wayne Coury, Jr. was up to fifth place behind Gray with Damian Palardy, Tom Butler, Adon Burrell, Kevin Gambacorta, and Keane making up the top-10. Wood took the lead from Meyer on lap-7 and Buffone followed him through to take second and drop Meyer back to third. Gray was still fourth with Coury fifth. Palardy spun in turn 1 to bring the caution back out with 12 laps complete. Wood powered into the lead on the restart with Meyer taking second. Buffone was third in line with Varricchio fourth and Gray fifth. Varricchio and Buffone touched just before Varricchio took third place on lap-17. Wood cruised to the checkered flag to pick up his third win of the 2026 season. Meyer finished second with Varricchio, Buffone, and Coury rounding out the top-5. Adam Gray finished 6th to clinch the 2026 Late Model track championship which is his fifth career track title at Stafford.

In the 20-lap SK Light feature, Ben Morrison powered into the lead on the outside of polesitter Paul Arcari. Nick Anglace moved from fifth to third on the opening lap and then took second place from Cassandra Cole on lap-2. Bob Charland was fourth with Chris Matthew fifth. Anglace made a move to the inside of Morrison on lap-4 but he couldn’t complete the pass to take the lead. A multi-car incident involving Chad Jones, John Brunelle, Carsten Cole, and Travis Downey brought the caution flag out with 7 laps complete. Anglace ripped the high line on the restart to power his way past Morrison and into the lead. Charland went around Morrison briefly to take second but Morrison came right back to reclaim second. Matthews was fourth behind Charland with Robert Bloxsom, III up to fifth. Matthews raced wheel to wheel with Charland for several laps before he took third place on lap-13. Bloxsom went by Matthews on lap-14 to take over third while Anglace continued to lead Morrison. Matthews worked his way back to the inside of Bloxsom on lap-15 but he couldn’t complete the pass. Anglace led the field to the checkered flag to pick up his eighth win of the 2026 season. Morrison finished second with Bloxsom, Matthews, and Charland rounding out the top-5. Tyler Barry finished 11th and that finish was good enough to make him the 2026 SK Light track champion. The championship was the second of Barry’s SK Light career at Stafford.

In the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, RJ Surdell took the lead at the start followed by Adrien Paradis, III, Duane Provost, Conor Jencik, and Gary Patnode. Norm Root, III made contact with Devon Jencik in turn 3 with Jencik going around to bring the caution flag out.

Surdell took the lead back under green with Provost taking second. Conor Jencik was third in line with Kyle Theriault fourth and Patnode fifth. Jeremy Lavoie was looking to the outside of Patnode for fifth place while Root was right behind the side by side duo. Root spun coming out of turn 4 to bring the caution flag out with 9 laps complete. Root was the Limited Late Model championship leader coming into the race but his spin gave him a flat tire and he retired from the race, virtually eliminating him from championship contention.

Surdell took the lead on the restart but the caution came right back out with 10 laps complete for an incident in turn 3 involving the cars of Adrien Paradis, III and Devon Jencik.

Surdell took the lead on the restart with Jason Lafayette taking second from Provost. Provost settled into third with Theriault fourth and Conor Jencik fifth. Lafayette took the lead from Surdell on lap-15 with a pass coming out of turn 2. Provost followed Lafayette by Surdell to take second and drop Surdell back to third. Theriault was still fourth while Conor Jencik had his hands full holding off a pack of cars behind him for fifth place. Lafayette took the checkered flag to pick up his third win of the 2026 season. Provost finished second with Surdell, Theriault, and Matt Clement rounding out the top-5. With Root’s misfortune combined with Jeremy Lavoie’s sixth place finish, Lavoie became the 2026 Limited Late Model track champion. The championship is Lavoie’s fourth career title in the Limited Late Model division at Stafford.

In the 20-lap Street Stock feature, Allen Coates spun and collected several other cars including Larry Barnett and Bill Staves in turn 1 at the start to bring the caution flag out before a lap could be completed.

Scott Sundeen took the lead ahead of Jason Raymond and Brandon Warren but they only completed one lap before the caution came back out for Peter Guarino, Jr. and Garrett Pease, who both spun in turn 3 after making contact.

Warren went door to door with Sundeen on the restart and he had the lead by a nose at the line to complete lap-2. Warren cleared into the lead on lap-3 with Brent Gleason taking second. Ryan Waterman moved into third with Matt Lowinski-Loh fourth and PJ Evans fifth as Sundeen slid all the way back to eighth place after leading the first lap. Sundeen went around in turn 4 to bring the yellow flag out with 7 laps complete.

Warren took the lead on the restart with Waterman taking second from Gleason. Lowinski-Loh took third with Evans taking fourth as Gleason fell from second back to sixth place behind Jason Raymond. Dominic Harrison hit the wall in turn 4 to bring the caution flag back out with 13 laps complete.

The restart saw Marvin Minkler get into the backstretch wall coming out of turn 2 along with the cars of Pete Cayer, Mike Caprio, Matt Martel, and Roger Mahieu also involved to bring the caution flag back out immediately.

Warren took the lead on the restart with Waterman and Lowinski-Loh second and third. Gleason was fourth in line with Jaysin Beal up to fifth. Warren was starting to stretch out his lead over the teammates of Waterman and Lowinski-Loh with Gleason holding off Raymond for fourth place. Warren took the checkered flag to pick up his second win of the 2026 season. Waterman finished second with Lowinski-Loh, Gleason, and Raymond rounding out the top-5. Waterman’s second place finish made him the 2026 Street Stock track champion, his second Street Stock title at Stafford.

The results included Mike Caprio from Clinton, Herb Carlon from Groton, and Matt Martel from Stafford Springs.

PJ Evans of Uncasville, Dominic Harrison from East Longmeadow, MA, and Allen Coates of Uncasville were also listed among the finishers.

Rounding out the list were Bill Staves of Windsor, Hunter Duquette from Palmer, MA, and Kyle Nosal of Higganum.
