Owen Grennan secured his second consecutive victory at Riverhead Raceway this past Saturday, clinching the 2026 Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Modified track championship during the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 event. The victory followed Grennan's earlier win at the Cecil Palm Tree 66, cementing his dominance in the series. The 77-lap race was marked by intense, caution-free action, with Grennan battling his brother Chase Grennan for the lead.
Grennan, who entered the race with an 18-point lead over Mark Stewart, successfully managed the heavy traffic to secure his fifth career NASCAR Modified victory. The top five finishers included Chase Grennan, who finished second, followed by Dylan Slepian in third, Kyle Ellwood in fourth, and Tom Rogers Jr. in fifth. Grennan reflected on his journey, noting that his success is a true family effort.
Other divisions also saw significant action. In the Late Models, Brandon Turbush scored his second win of 2026. Meanwhile, in the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modified finale, Michael Berner took the victory, which gave him the first tiebreaker in a tight championship battle against AJ DeSantis.
The weekend concluded with several memorable finishes across the track. Will "The Thrill" Farrell claimed his second TK Figure Eight win, while Matt Triola secured a dramatic victory in the Blunderbust division, marking his final race before retirement.
