The Thompson Speedway oval is set to return to the racing calendar in 2027. The track will once again be managed by the operating partnership of Cris Michaud and Tom Mayberry, who have successfully run events at the facility since 2021.
The series expected to feature at the oval include the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series. Both organizations are anticipated to bring multiple events back to Thompson in 2027.
In 2026, the schedule was packed, featuring the traditional Icebreaker and several Sunoco World Series weekends. The calendar also included five Wednesday events running from May through September, alongside three Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series events.
Michaud confirmed the commitment, stating that the team is definitely returning, though they are still working out the specific format for the 2027 season.
