The 55th Annual Winchester 400, presented by Vore’s Welding & Steel, is set to take place this Sunday at Winchester Speedway, marking the ninth round of the 2026 ASA STARS National Tour. The event carries a special significance, serving as a tribute to the late Charlie Shaw, who passed away on September 15th at age 90. Shaw was a dedicated local leader who ensured the preservation of the historic half-mile asphalt oval.
The 24 Super Late Models competing in the race are aiming for a prestigious Winchester rifle. This follows a dramatic previous outing where NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series star Ty Majeski dominated the 54th Winchester 400, leading 350 of the 400 laps to secure the victory. Dawson Sutton finished second, while Cole Butcher rounded out the podium in third, despite the race being marked by significant attrition.
In the championship standings, Carson Brown enters the weekend as the ASA STARS National Tour points leader, holding a 176-point lead over Canadian racer Kyle Steckly. Tristan McKee sits in third place, with Jade Avedisian and Derek Thorn also vying for position. Brown faces the added challenge of starting from the rear of the field, as the field missed both practice and qualifying due to racing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series in Charlotte.
The preliminary field features a mix of seasoned competitors, including 2019 Winchester 400 winner Stephen Nasse and Casey Roderick, alongside emerging talent like Avedisian and McKee. Practice and ASA STARS National Tour Pole Qualifying will occur on Saturday, October 10th, before the 400-lap feature begins at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 11th.
