The 64th Sunoco World Series at Thompson Speedway will once again be a dream weekend for fans of Tour-type Modified racing with three-straight days of the region's best open-wheeled racers set to take on the iconic high banks of the Indianapolis of the East!

It all begins Friday, October 9 with the Modified Racing Series (MRS) returning to the 5/8-mile Thompson oval. MRS will crown their 2026 champion on Sunoco World Series weekend with Brett Meservey holding a 55-point lead atop the standings. Thirty drivers fill Friday’s 50-lap entry list, all looking to start the weekend with the $3,500 winner’s share in their pocket.

The Mighty Modifieds fire back up on Saturday, October 10 with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series! All the stars of the Monaco Modifieds return to Thompson Speedway for the third time in 2026 with Jon McKennedy holding a slim 13-point lead ahead of Ron Silk for the championship chase with just two events left on the calendar. Both drivers classify Thompson as a personal playground and with $10,000 going to the victor, it’s sure to be a throwdown until the very last lap Saturday night.

It all comes to a roaring finale on Sunday, October 11 as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour crowns the 2026 champion at their longtime Thompson Speedway home! Orchard Park, New York’s Patrick Emerling holds a 30-point lead over Northampton, Pennsylvania’s Austin Beers going into Sunday’s Sunoco World Series 150. Emerling needs to finish 25th-or-better to clinch the 2026 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour title but has his eyes set on yet another NASCAR win at Thompson Speedway with a minimum $12,585 winner's share on the line!

Sunday will also mark the finale of the FloRacing Connecticut Challenge with Matt Hirschman holding a 9-point lead ahead of Stephen Kopcik in the Challenge standings! ‘Big Money’ Matt is eyeing that $7,500 prize while himself, Kopcik and Teddy Hodgdon are all eligible for an additional $1,250 bonus if they win a second of the four events that make up the mini-series!

Thompson Speedway is ready to rumble the Quiet Corner of Connecticut for the grand-daddy of them all, the 64th Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing starting Friday, October 9 and running through Sunday, October 11. All Thompson Speedway track champions will be crowned along with special visits from the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series, Modified Racing Series, New England Supermodified Series, NEMA, Pro Truck Challenge, R&R Street Stocks and Pro-4 Modifieds and culminating with the 2026 championship event for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Sunday!
