Super Late Model racing has achieved a new level of national unity following a major ownership merger involving ASA STARS, CARS Tour West, and the Midwest Tour. This consolidation establishes a unified leadership structure under MDM Promotions, creating a single, nationwide vision for the sport.
The new structure brings together Marty Melo, owner of the Midwest Tour, with Kevin Harvick and Tim Huddleston, operators of CARS Tour West. These three individuals now share ownership of the combined MDM Promotions tree, which oversees seven distinct series all operating under the 'CARS Tour' brand. Furthermore, Harvick, Huddleston, and Melo will co-own the TrackTV streaming platform, which will broadcast all races across the new sanctioning body.
Several divisions are undergoing rebrands, including the ASA STARS National Tour becoming the CARS National Tour, and the ASA Midwest Tour transitioning to the CARS Midwest Tour. New series have also been established, such as CARS Pro Tour South, CARS Pro Tour Southwest, and CARS Pro Tour Northwest, alongside the CARS Tour West Super Late Model division.
While the Southern Super Series, which operates independently, will continue to coordinate with the new owners, the unified divisions are finalizing their organizational structure ahead of the January 1 rebound. This major change, which was effective immediately, aims to streamline the sport while offering a new, more affordable price point for TrackTV viewers.
