Carson Brown secured a victory in the Winchester 400, a historic event at Winchester Speedway, after a series of scheduling changes due to Hurricane Isaias. Originally planned for Sunday, the race was moved to Saturday, which created a conflict with the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race. Brown managed to make the necessary travel and arrived in time to qualify, ultimately dominating from second place to claim his first rifle trophy.
The race was a fierce battle of attrition, with only six of the 26 starters making it to the finish line. Beyond the intense competition from teammate Stephen Nasse, Dawson Sutton of Rackley WAR led laps 35 through 55 before suffering an electrical issue. Brown successfully managed the race through the final stages, holding off Nasse, who felt track position was a major factor in the outcome.
Brown, who was driving for Anthony Campy Racing, emphasized the importance of the win, noting that it was a significant step toward the ASA STARS championship. Nasse, who finished second, praised Brown's performance, stating that the Richard Childress Racing driver put together a great race, while Brown focused on maintaining caution and executing strategy against a fast-running field.
Only Billy VanMeter, Tristan McKee, Chris Shannon, and Chase Pinsonneau finished the race on the lead lap. For Brown, the win marks a major success in a dream season before he transitions to NOAPS racing next year with RCR.
