Riverhead Raceway·

Riverhead Raceway has announced a significant division restructuring bulletin, effective for 2027, aimed at increasing efficiency and providing clearer pathways for competitors. The changes affect multiple classes, from youth programs to top-tier divisions, reflecting the track's commitment to growth and competitive balance.

Several class mergers and changes were detailed in the announcement. The Blunderbust division will transition into the Street Stock division, as the cars have become similar to Street Stocks. Furthermore, the Mini Stock division will be discontinued, with the track focusing its efforts on growing the 4/6 Cylinder Enduro division. The TK Figure Eight division will be reset to focus exclusively on the Crown Vic platform to ensure a more consistent and affordable field.

The Bandolero program is also undergoing a major streamlining. The Beginner division will be eliminated, with all Bandoleros now being categorized by age: Bandits (ages 7-11) and Outlaws (ages 12 and older). In Crate Modifieds, the sealed engine program is being opened up, allowing engines to be serviced under strict guidelines to increase flexibility for competitors.

In the top classes, Late Models will introduce a rebuildable 604 engine program starting in 2027, while Tour Type Modifieds will move to group qualifying based on previous season's championship points. Additionally, the Super Pro Truck division will transition to a 10-inch tire. The track also introduced "Fan Connection" time and a new on-track Victory Lane A for 2027.
