2027 Whelen Modified Tour Announced; NAPA Spring Sizzler Returns

RaceDayCT·

NASCAR has unveiled the 2027 Whelen Modified Tour schedule, bringing several significant changes to the series' calendar. The most notable addition is the return of the NAPA Spring Sizzler to the tour, which will be held at Stafford Motor Speedway on April 25, 2027. This event, which was previously run as an Open Modified event since 2022, is set to kick off the 2027 season.

The Whelen Modified Tour will also feature at Stafford on Friday, August 27, 2027. The series is expanding its reach, with its first-ever visit to Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT, scheduled for Saturday, June 12. The 2027 season will begin at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Sunday, April 4 (Icebreaker Weekend), and conclude on Sunoco World Series weekend at Thompson on Sunday, October 10.

While the series will visit Riverhead Raceway twice in 2027 (June 5 and September 11), several events were dropped from the schedule, including those at New Smyrna Speedway, Oswego Speedway, Oxford Plains Speedway, and White Mountain Motorsports Park. The series will also return to Lancaster Speedway in 2027.

The 2027 schedule confirms that the Modifieds will be competing at Stafford for two events, building on the successful return of the division in 2023. This expanded presence highlights the growing momentum and excitement surrounding the Whelen Modified Tour.
