Treyten Lapcevich is set to conclude his CARS Tour campaign with a major, one-off opportunity: driving the No. 8 car for JR Motorsports at South Boston Speedway. The arrangement came together rapidly after Lapcevich received a call from Dale Earnhardt Jr., who facilitated the quick transition.

This opportunity follows Lapcevich's departure from Chad Bryant Racing, which concluded after the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 incident involving a post-race altercation with Corey Heim. Furthermore, the No. 8 car is slated to continue racing next year, though Dale Earnhardt Jr. intends to field the car full-time with a different driver down the line.

Lapcevich is also working with veteran crew chief Bryan Shaffer, noting that collaborating with a new crew chief is always a unique experience that requires learning different communication styles and car dynamics. He expressed deep gratitude for the chance to drive for the prolific team.

While this weekend focuses on the chance to win with a top Late Model Stock team, Lapcevich is also maintaining his Pro Late Model commitments with Rette Jones Racing, which includes competing in the Snowball Derby later this December.
