MiataCon presented by Piloti is set to celebrate four years and four generations of the Miata at Lime Rock Park on October 23-24, growing from a local gathering into a national celebration of Mazda's iconic roadster.
What began in 2022 has grown into a national celebration, drawing enthusiasts from across the United States. More than 500 Miatas gathered during the event's second year, and by 2025, both the two-day Miata Corral and MiataX driving experiences had sold out. This year, MiataCon builds on that growth with nearly a 10% increase in race participation, an expanded vendor midway, and a new category in the Moss Miata Car Show.
"What made MiataCon special from the beginning is that it was never just about racing or showing off cars. It's about the people who share a genuine passion for the Miata," said Lime Rock Park Chief Marketing Officer Jamie Kistner. "In four years, we've watched this event grow into something much bigger than we originally imagined, but the atmosphere hasn't changed. Whether someone is racing for a trophy, taking their first laps around Lime Rock Park or simply spending the weekend with other Miata owners, there's a place for them here."
Sanctioned by the Sports Car Driving Association (SCDA), MiataCon's racing program welcomes professional and club racers across three groups: Spec Miata, Open Exhibition NC/ND, and Open Exhibition NA/NB. For drivers seeking to experience Lime Rock Park's historic 1.5-mile circuit without wheel-to-wheel competition, SCDA will offer non-racing High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) sessions.
The competition carries additional incentives beyond the checkered flag. Hoosier Tire East returns as a contingency sponsor, awarding Hoosier racing tires to podium finishers, while all class winners will receive a pair of Piloti driving shoes. Lime Rock Park will also continue its Miata Masters program, underwriting complimentary entry into MiataCon 2027 for winners of Saturday afternoon's feature races and the enduro.
MiataX presented by SuperMiata returns with autocross lapping sessions on an open course without cones or walls, allowing drivers to compete against the clock. Friday's programming includes a morning autocross session open to all makes and models, followed by two introductory MiataX sessions. Saturday features two Miata-only sessions. All MiataX participants will receive complimentary general admission to Saturday's race day, and the drivers with the overall quickest lap time during both Saturday’s sessions will receive a pair of Piloti trainers.
For those who prefer the open road, the Nutmeg Miata Club will lead three scenic drives through the Litchfield Hills on Friday. The 45-mile long routes wind through northwest Connecticut's fall scenery, with groups led by club members, and are complimentary with event admission.
The two-day Miata Corral will feature NA, NB, NC, and ND models alongside other Mazda and Japanese domestic market sports cars and Kei cars. On Saturday, the corral will host the Moss Miata Car Show, where owners can showcase everything from carefully preserved stock models to extensively modified builds. Awards include Miata I'd Most Like to Own, Best Modified Miata, and Best Stock Miata. New this year, the Best Miata Costume category adds a creative twist.
MiataCon's expanded vendor midway will bring together performance specialists and automotive lifestyle brands, including 949 Racing/SuperMiata, Planet Miata, Artis Race Labs, LIQUI MOLY, Spite Performance, Archaic Lighting, PeopleKars, Avants, and CashedMedia. Mazda of Milford will also bring a fleet of Miatas for fans to explore, and local food trucks will surround the Airstream hangout area.
MiataCon presented by Piloti takes place Oct. 23-24 at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. Miata Corral packages include designated parking in B Paddock and parade laps around the circuit on both days, while Saturday corral participants are automatically entered into the Moss Miata Car Show.
